From what I've heard, I think it is safe to add Steve Pierrotti from Wheaton North onto Wheaton's list

I have heard that 6-8/180 F Wes Dukeman of Arthur H.S. (16.0 ppg) is heading to Elmhurst.  He was Special Mention all-state on the 1A/2A team...

http://ibcaillinois.org/1A2ABoysState.php

Dukeman made it to Peoria in both the 1A 3-point and slam dunk contests...

http://pjstar.biz/php/index.php?/scoreboard/2008/03/07/

I'm guessing he is a face-the-basket type 4.  (I have never seen him play.)  I can't confirm this news, but I'm pretty sure it's right.

An update on a kid recruited by a few CCIW schools...

6-6 F Matt Buren (Macomb H.S.) is heading to NAIA Trinity Christian.  I didn't see Buren either, but know a few schools in the league were high on him.

Wheaton close to landing a 6-5 wing from the Detriot area and a 6-9 player from Virginia.  Stay tuned.

"Congratulations to Drake Diamond who has committed to continue his education and his basketball career at Wheaton College in Illinois."

So, the big guy Wheaton is getting from Virginia is 6-8/225 Drake Diamond from Centreville H.S.  As a senior he averaged 4.8 ppg and 2.6 rpg.  He was 38-76 (.500) from the field and 29-45 (.644) from the FT line.  He attempted just one 3-pointer.

I'm not sure about this  -  it's that time of year, isn't it?  -  but I thought New Trier had a pair of 6'6" twins, and McCrary rings a bell somehow.  Does anyone know about that and, if so, is there any word on the brother?

Thanks Q for the updates.  This looks like a good recruiting class for Wheaton.  I had heard somewhere that Wheaton was also looking at a possible transfer coming into the program.

Also heard that Wheaton was on the "short list" for Terrelle Pryor, a football/basketball combo who chose Ohio State instead.  Harris was considering sharing him with Swider but Swider wasn't interested.
