.......or the new and improved facility up at Carthage.  Purported to be one of the finest in D3.  Including seat backs  -  good for ol' geezers like myself.

Springs in the floor ?? Sounds like they got it from Action Floor Systems. While it might sound high tech those "springs" are basically waffled rubber pads stapled to 2x4s (called sleepers) and the flooring is installed over the top of them.

Jeez. Come on you basketball "fans." You've heard of a player having "springs" as in the ability to jump. The old floor at Merner has more "give" and rebound effect than many of the newer surfaces, and enables players to get up a little higher off the floor.

Pete--

You might be a geezer, but you're still a young geezer!   :)

Sorry I bit on that one AndOne but I did work at Action Floor Systems for a while. I was merely explaining the "secret" technology.

Is Elmhurst playing a double-header on January 3rd -- as indicated on the CCIW website?

The upcoming games are culled straight from the Composite Schedule feature on the CCIW website, and the Composite Schedule has had an error in it since it was posted last fall. Elmhurst will be at Anderson on Saturday, Jan. 3, while Millikin will be taking on York (NY) in the first round of the Christopher Newport Captains Shootout in Newport News, VA.

Looking through all the conferences' standing, I'm pretty sure the CCIW is the only conference where every team is above .500 (all are 6-2 or better, in fact), and collectively we've won 49 more games than we've lost! Pretty amazing stuff. The WIAC is also really strong (don't the WIAC and CCIW have 6 of the top-10 teams in the top-25 poll?) but perhaps more top-heavy with UWW, UWSP, and UWP.

Hope Santa was good to everybody.  I know the treadmill is calling me after this holiday.

A few pages back there was a discussion about Carroll and the possible conference change.
As many of you know, I often wonder why Elmhurst stays in the CCIW.  When the NAC was forming, I thought that would be a great fit for Elmhurst, and if Carroll was to leaving the MWC, perhaps the MWC would be good for Elmhurst.
I know there are many reasons for EC to stay in the CCIW, but as a former player and Alum, I just don't see Elmhurst "competitive" in many sports.  Recently perhaps, but historically no.  Just my two cents on the matter.

We have seen a lot of intense battles up to this point.  What would you say was the greatest upset so far this non-conference?

Greetings CCIWers from the Embassy Suites in Columbus, Ohio.
The NCC bus will be leaving for Otterbein (10 minutes away) in about an hour. Hopefully, I'll be able to report another CCIW victory following the game.

thundermike11

Does anyone have any info on Mount St. Joseph? I know they played Elmhurst pretty even in November.

cardinalfanrochelle

If anyone is bored go to Otterbein school site and listen to the pre game show it's a riot ( funny) they have no clue who they are playing
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........
