I haven't seen Puget Sound play, so all I could say would be parroting someone else ... and I haven't gotten to that part of my week yet where I've done the research on them.

UPS is the only one of the four I haven't seen this year.

Not only did he hit a 90 foot shot in a game, but then did it again for an interview on the 2nd try.

I've been reading the boards for quite some time now but have never posted.  I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what the odds are of more tickets becoming available tomorrow before the first game.  I was out of town when they went on sale and was planning to swing over and pick some up over lunch on Wednesday but they sold out before I could get there.  Then I tried again at 2 pm today but the extra tickets sold out and apparently people who had been waiting since before 1 pm failed to get tickets.  I have been to almost every Wheaton game for five years and now I'm going to miss the biggest game yet?!?!  I'm frantic and desperate for tickets.  Is there any hope for getting one tomorrow?

I don't know when the tickets the other schools have will be returned, but St. Thomas/Puget Sound will almost certainly not sell all of theirs... Whenever they return them a large amount of tickets should become available. Also, I know some tickets (like mine) are reserved at the SRC, but if they haven't been claimed before 6pm Friday, I believe they will go back on general sale. You could contact wheatontickets@gmail.com for more information or to see if you could reserve a ticket, but you may have to be a student to use that avenue. At the very least, it will be on the WETN TV channel and online.

A question to those who may know: what happens to those UST/UPS tickets for people who aren't watching the second game? Cause that will create space, but no one to claim it...
Or are tickets for the first and second game sold seperately?

As of this morning St. Thomas had sold 300 of its 400 tickets, so it's not that hard to believe that they would sell the remaining 100. I would be surprised if Puget Sound had sold all of theirs, so they might return some. Wheaton is holding some tickets for students who might return early, but if those aren't sold they will go back on sale too.

I got a kick out of the bet, if the kid hits a shot before Lebron........King James has to buy the team a burrito restaurant, not a burrito dinner the whole restaurant. :D

The tickets stay in the hands of the UST/UPS fans who deciee to leave.  Tickets are not sold seperately for both games.  They gym will not be full and no new tickets will be sold. Its just the way it works at a 4 team sectional/regional.

See if you can get a ticket out of the hand of someone leaving after the first game.  While you are at it, bring the ticket from last week's game.  See if the color matches they printed on.   :-\

Not that I'm endorsing 600 extra people showing up.  I'm just saying, if you're desperate.

As a Wash U. grad school alum I received an email yesterday afternoon stating around 200 tickets were available to alums in the Chicago area. I assume students, university staff, donors etc. had already spoken for the rest of their allotment. When I reserved two tickets this morning about 10:50 a.m., the athletic department rep said that only 65 or so of the 200 had been claimed by that time. Since the availability ended at noon, there must have been a few tickets retured by Wash U. for sale at 2 p.m.

When I tried to call Wheaton College around 3:45 p.m. today to get the schedule for picking up my tickets, all I got was voice mail saying no additional tickets were yet available. However, it was clear the voice mail message was from yesterday, so anyone who walked up right at 2 p.m. today probably had a good shot at getting tickets.

It should be a great doubleheader tomorrow night, but in the end I think Wheaton and the Tommies will be playing Saturday for the trip to Salem.

From the Wheaton Athletics Website:

UPDATED AT 5:42 PM (CST) March 12, 2009: All available tickets have been sold. No more tickets for Friday's game will be sold.

From what I have heard, this includes the allotments from other teams. Wheaton is selling no more tickets for Friday. You could always try for Saturday.

Mr. Ypsi

SI had a little blurb that Kentucky has the all-time NCAA record for consecutive conference wins at 64 (the reason for this is that Memphis is at 58 and counting; I was mildly surprised that John Wooden's UCLA teams never exceeded that).  But SI has sometimes confused d1 records with NCAA records.

Wheaton obviously has a streak of at least 56 games, going 14-0 four straight seasons from 1956-59 (then being shown the door because they were TOO good).  In 1955 they were 7-5; upon their return in 1968 they were 11-5.  I've been unable to find a game-by-game record for either '55 or '68, but there is clearly the potential that their streak was more than 56 straight - can anyone find (or know) the information?
