* Plays his favorites way too many minutes w/no results ie; Zimmer, Sexhauer, Kosnicki, O'callahn (however you spell their names) I said this would eventually "bite the bitch"

Am I the only one who read this and thought to himself, "Wow, he spelled 'Zimmer' correctly!"? ;)

The teams that have great posts...have no guard play.  The teams that have great guard play have inexperienced young posts.  A couple teams are OC which can make or break them on any given night.   A couple teams show up mentally for some games and not for others.  That's it in a nutshell.

Carthage's F/C positions are weak, at best.  The CCIW team with the best interior game should be able to post up and dominate Carthage all night long.

NP invited a bunch of elementary aged kids to the game against Carthage, a game where Jorge Gonzalez had six rebounds in fourteen minutes.  Some of these kids sat directly in front of me.  One Hispanic kid remarked, "Wow, Joe is playing a lot tonight."

I'm not sure when the shine was on the apple as a couple of games represents only a fraction of the season.  Losing at the underwhelming Millikin...why am I not surprised?

Probably should have just let this one go..but I'm going to respond anyways.

1) Whether or not you call Carthage's F/C positions weak you should also consider that they are freshmen. Pierce has made drastic improvements in his inside game (as well as his free throw shooting) since the beginning of the season.
2) Which CCIW team has the best interior? And considering the Red Men have defeated each of the teams so far (with their "weak at best" F/Cs), when does the domination start? (So I can know not to cue up these games online ;))

As a relatively new Carthage fan (good, cheap family entertainment, what can I say), I was wondering why Adam Tolo is so far down the depth chart.  He seemed capable enough to handle 15-20 minutes a game as a backup, but now seems resigned to mopup duty.

1. Welcome to the board, Bopol!

2. No need to explain or apologize as to why you're going to Carthage games. We need more folks in the seats in every CCIW gym!

3. If I had to guess, I'd say that Bosko is relegating Tolo (and Richard Williams, for that matter) to the end of the bench because: a) he can't generate as much offense as either Pierce or Guzman can; b) Pierce and Guzman have developed enough endurance to play 35 minutes apiece; and c) Pierce and Guzman are better able to defend the low post than can Tolo due to sheer bulk.

oooooooooooooooh

carthage moves into first place by themselves

and the titan and crusader fans are a bit touchy today

My post here is the first from an IWU supporter today...right?

And the only 'titan' post since the game that was in the least 'touchy' was from ourhouse, who has been on Ron Rose's case for years.

Certainly no one would mistake OurHouse as a Titan "fan"...I hope.

Hey, Bob, if we have to put up with Dennis, you should have to put up with OurHouse. Fair is fair. ;)

I must confess that CROW does not taste good.  Coach Bosco must have done something right for a Redmen romp to occur over the Titans.

You're an honest man, coebb. Not many would've owned up to a comment made several months ago that just about everybody else has long forgotten. Well done! I don't applaud or smite as a personal rule, but if I did I'd definitely give your karma a +1 for that post.

I tried accessing this board from China, but the entire discussion board was forbidden- The horror. I believe the Chinese government is trying to prevent its citizens from feeling joyful.

Maybe they just don't want their citizens to know about all the corn in Manito.

Best one-liner on here in weeks, sac! :D

Actually, I have banned China from D3boards.com, thanks to a pair of hacking attempts and a   bunch of attempts to spam the board.

Not many people who post here know that Pat is part Tibetan on his mother's side.

As you have already awarded sac the top prize, I believe this must be at least silver in the one-liner category! ;)

Pierce looks very promising; Guzman fits in well with this club (i.e., with a Steve D to drive and kick out), but I wonder how he'll develop.  With Guzman's pretty consistant foul trouble, I was surprised that Tolo isn't getting decent backup time.

How'd Max Cary look on Saturday?  Mono can whip you out for a long time.

Dunno about Saturday, but he was extremely effective last Wednesday at NPU. Didn't look like a kid who'd only had two practices under his belt after the doc cleared him to play.

*If Carthage is weak, how is it that they are in 1st place?

*Did Ron Rose screw up by not playing The Student Body more against the inside beef of Pierce and Guzman?

*I wonder at what point Bosko felt safe to insert the 7 scrubs who played a total of 16 whole minutes?

*A Luke Radliff sighting?

*All you would have to know to tell you Wesleyan lost was to know Cody Hilton had 15 points.

Aside from the Luke Radliff comment (who is Luke Radliff, anyway?) and the question about Bosko inserting his scrubs (his paranoia regarding IWU comebacks runs deep, and I'd be just as hesitant as Bosko to take the foot off the gas in a battle for first place, no matter how big a lead I had), this is the most incisive post of the weekend. Nicely done, Mark.

Thank you. My Mad Cow took the day off!  ;)

Welcome to the little group of Carthage fans on D3hoops.  Glad to have you.
I'm pretty new too...but haven't been able to restrain myself from throwing my two cents in there a couple of times already.
And I agree - with the new Tarble Arena, Carthage is one of the greatest venues in Kenosha for some entertainment on a Wednesday or Saturday night (Tuesday's too if you're following the women).
