Projected starters for the conference tournament field...

http://www.iwuhoops.com/notes10.htm

Amazingly, out of 20 probable starters, only 3 are seniors:

Seniors: 3
Juniors: 7
Sophs: 6
Fresh: 4

5th place team North Park had just 1 senior starter.  The league is going to be really, really good next year.

It should be really, really good for the next three years. As I've commented before, I think that the CCIW's sophomore and freshman classes are deeper than the junior class.

Curse you, Slovaks!!

???

I'm guessing Olympic hockey.......it ended very late last night

Slovakia 4 Sweden 3.......which eliminates the Swedes and sets up Canada/Slovakia in the semi-finals.

Ah, so Mark's pining for his tre kronor. Got it. His post was actually a pretty amusing non sequitur in the midst of CCIW and D3 tournament conversation. But, as long as Mark's put Olympic hockey on the table as a topic, here's a word and an abbreviation from me: Go USA!

#22502
One less Pool C bid available, as the first huge upset has taken place - Carleton defeats St. Thomas 73-67 in the MIAC semis.  (St. Thomas, ranked #3 in the D3hoops.com poll, is a Pool C lock.)

And potential trouble in the WIAC, where both Stevens Point and Whitewater trail at the half!

Pool C hopefuls want both Stevens Point and Whitewater to win these games, now in the 2nd half...

a) You presented no evidence to back it up, Tom. In fact, you've never even commented upon the D3 tourney before, so how are we to know that you even understand the process behind Pool C selection?

b) It hasn't happened yet.

I posted this on the Pool C board.  Here is a list of current Pool A teams that Pool C hopefuls will want to root for this weekend.  3 upsets or so are to be expected (St. Thomas is already on the board)...can't have 5-6 though.

In the absence of any reasonable flying options, my 436-mile drive begins this morning.  Driving from Columbia, Mo to Bloomington, at which point I jump in a vehicle with some unsavory B-N residents...and then make the drive up to Kenosha.

Wouldn't miss it.  I'll see you up there?

Drive safe Q.   Can't make it tonight.  Gonna try tmorrow.

As a frequent d3football poster, this is my first foray onto the BB Board, all I want to do is congratulate Carthage on great seasons both for the men's and women's programs. Living in Lake Geneva, I read the Kenosha paper, and while not following closely, it's hard to miss the press about Carthage. Good luck going forward in the post season.

Is there going to be live video for this weekend's games?

Viking Mike

Looking forward to some good basketball tonight at Tarble Arena.

Sounds like Augie had a good week of practice.
I feel Augie matches up best against the Red Men vs the other 2 teams.
If the Vikes can shoot a decent precentage and play great defense (as they are capable).... I like their chances.
I do not expect Carthage to shoot 15% in the second half of this game, however.

Beware if Augie gets by Carthage, as they will have something to prove against IWU or Wheaton.
The Vikings went 0-2 against both in 4 very competitive games.
Plus the Vikes appear to be deeper than the other 2 teams (esp Wheaton) and may have more strong  legs in the 2nd game in 2 nights.

GO AUGUSTANA....................... BEAT CARTHAGE!!!
