Titan Q

Congrats to Carthage, Wheaton, and IWU...good luck to all!

WOW!  Congratulations to Carthage, IWU, and Wheaton.  Even in a "down" year for the CCIW, we get three teams in.   8-)

Titan Q

An early look at how IWU and Central (Ia) matchup...

http://www.iwuhoops.com/notes10.htm

The Dutch look experienced (5 senior starters), balanced, and big in the post.

On paper, this looks like a very even pairing.

petemcb

Carthage hosting seems to make sense.  So does IWU going to Wash U.  At first, I was feeling badly for Wheaton having to go down to the Lone Star State, but how cool has it got to be for Ben Panner to (likely) finish off his career in his home state?!

petemcb

As I continue to look at the brackets, I'm wondering what UW-Whitewater did wrong to not only miss hosting, but to have to drive past host Carthage on their way over to Wooster.  How did that happen?

BUBeaverFan

I think the "Bracket of Death" from 2009 tourney had the selection committee attempting to be a bit more creative.

Essentially they traded Hope for Whitewater.........leaving WW anywhere in the Carthage or Stevens Pt bracket makes that bracket ultra tough............moving Hope in theoretically balances it out.

The Wooster bracket would not be real strong with Hope in place of WW (at least in theory).....in reality that may not be the case.

Titan Q

This is the best bracket I've seen put together in many years...much more balanced.  Hats off to the national committee on a job well done.

Second that, and Titan Q, wasn't this the pod that you predicted for the IWU men on this board?

I've never heard of Albertus Magnus.

Was there a WIAC bubble team that did not make the tourney?
Once a metalhead, always a metalhead.  Matthew 5:13.

Don't know much about them, but I heard their mascot is Fat Albert.
