Here's a link to the UMHB website which will provide access to Live video and stats for tonights game between Wheaton and UMHB. Tipoff at 7pm. (look in the middle of the right side for links to the feeds)

OK.  This is for anybody more tech-savvy than I am.....which probably includes most of you:  I took a look at the link for this game.  Is there a way to make the picture any bigger than the 2 X 3 or so little box that shows initially?

Just double click anywhere within the window...it should go to fullscreen mode.

It's funny - they have live video streaming of the scoreboard in an empty gym right now.  A "calm before the storm" kind of thing.

Thanks Bob.  I was thinking it was kind of eery looking at the scoreboard in the empty gym too.  Especially when I saw the clock with 60:00 ready to go for the first half......doesn't bode well for a Wheaton team that doesn't run very deep.  ;D

Never forget, pete, EVERYTHING'S bigger in Texas!  (Though I hadn't realized that even included length of halves. ;D)

Gotta love Wheaton getting ready to tip off on a floor with a huge "Crusaders" scrawled across the middle of the floor!  Good omen?  Not to be confused with good luck  -  for which there is no room in the coaching staff's theology.  ;)

A couple of masterful, albeit perhaps unintentional, changes of key during the national anthem, along with some fairly animalistic yelps during the lengthy rendition.  Off to a good start.

Geez... if all UMHB's shots are THAT tough then Wheaton is probably in good shape.

Mccrary can now add being blocked by Ervin Johnson to his impressive basketball resume.  ;)

petemcb

Wheaton has had 3 shots blocked already.  Still winning, but a different style of defense than they are used to.

petemcb

Reason for optimism:  the announcer, who I believe is a MHB announcer, just mentioned that this Wheaton team is clearly "stronger than the Texas-Dallas team we faced last week".  Encouraging if/when we win this first one!

He's got a Ervin Johnson-like line going... 7 points, 3 boards and an assist and we're not 5 minutes in yet...

This UMHB team looks very athletic (beating Wheaton off the dribble at will, Johnson's flat footed dunk a couple possessions back...).  Wheaton will do well to stick to fundamentals and make UMHB beat them with very athletic plays (and thus expend more energy).

And that it looks like UMHB is winning... but Wheaton is winning by 5 and scoring effortlessly.

Wheaton has assists on all 6 of their buckets and no TO's.  UMHB has 3 TO's.  And several terrible shots, geez!

Now 17-9.

Actually, we should move over to the in-game updates page... (I've gotta run, I've got a basketball game that starts in a few minutes!  Yeah church league!)

More good signs.

MHB just hit the side and the bottom of the backboard on consecutive shots.  Wheaton rebounded the second miss, went the length of the floor and Panner nailed a 3.  I like it.

MHB should be thankful this Wheaton team does not have Kent Raymond as this contest would be over

I play racquetball every Thursday at the Washington University Athletic Complex and I happened to be at the front desk a few hours ago when the Titans showed up.  Not much fanfare in Division III.  The team was welcomed by a party of two, yours truly and a student I know on work-study duty.

Very serious guys, it seems.  The first to the desk said only four words (I kid you not): We are here for basketball.  Indeed they are.

I was also walking by the arena when the Bears, who had finished their warm-up, were handing over the floor to Titans.  Lots of hugs and handshakes.  Obviously, some of these players go way back, but they all know and respect each other well.
