UMHB's poor free throw shooting and 3 point shooting lost this game for them.

Those factors hurt, but the Crusaders had a lot more problems than just those -- namely, the inability to guard Wheaton.  And the fact that Wheaton is a lot better basketball team was tough for UMHB to overcome as well.

I can add to your report.  The little guys are pretty good too.  ;)

They seemed quite busy on the outside knocking down threes, so that is why I mentioned the big guys.

I know they say you should not wish your life away, but I wish it was tomorrow night.

Mr. Ypsi

In line with your 3-point notice, pass on to Coach Edwards that Coach Rose has decided to go with Titan Q's 5-guard offense.  No one will EVER intrude upon the 3-point arc.

I play racquetball every Thursday at the Washington University Athletic Complex and I happened to be at the front desk a few hours ago when the Titans showed up.  Not much fanfare in Division III.  The team was welcomed by a party of two, yours truly and a student I know on work-study duty.

Very serious guys, it seems.  The first to the desk said only four words (I kid you not): We are here for basketball.  Indeed they are.

I was also walking by the arena when the Bears, who had finished their warm-up, were handing over the floor to Titans.  Lots of hugs and handshakes.  Obviously, some of these players go way back, but they all know and respect each other well.
Well, here in Texas, we would use the contraction and make four words.

We're here for basketball!

But then again, we say things like y'all, howdy and fixin' to.  :D

EDIT:  WUH posted before I could post mine!

It's OK, Ralph. We know that y'all were fixin' to post that. ;)

Tonight's result in Texas seems to support where Massey has Wheaton (#26) relative to Mary Hardin-Baylor (#47).  Round 2 features #26 Wheaton vs #27 Texas-Dallas.

That is probably true.  UMHB had their moments, but they couldn't sustain them. There were a couple of players that were talented, but played out of control. They lacked the discipline that Wheaton had. Wheaton had very good three point shooters; the players were disciplined and stayed within their game. UMHB did not do that. I think that was the most frustrating thing for me to watch.

I'm already eating my words that a CCIW team would not win a postseason game unless StevieD scored at least 35 in one game.  Thanks, Wheaton.

I apologize for the belittlement. I agree that athletics should not be placed ahead of character and academics. Especially since basically all CCIW athletes go pro in something other than sports.

However, since I have been apart of this conference North Park has performed dismally across the board (except for a few descent soccer teams). For example last week at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championships, NPU scored 4 points out of a 662 point total. That is not very many considering that the top 8 relays score, and each school is only allowed to enter one relay team per relay event...

As far as basketball goes-- I suppose it was nice to see that they were at least somewhat competitive this season.

there is always an exception to the rule.  and his name is steve. but fortunately for Carthage fans- steve d will probably wait until his eligibility expires before entering the draft.

* Tim McCrary: 17 pts, 10 reb, 5 assists

My tournament fantasy team is off to a nice start.

He's good.  Nice line again.

Thanks all for posting updates last night.  I had to miss the 2nd half on the radio, so I kept up by reading In Game Updates (on that thread and this one).  i was happy to see a double digit lead continue to be posted through the end.  Anyone have info about Saturday's game- online feed for following the game or related options?

For the games tonight in St. Louis, Wash U has links for live video and live stats on their site...

Entering the draft?  Are you talking military?

Best line from the MHB announcer last night (I heard it and was also posted on the in game update board)..."They should call a foul on Wheaton's assistant coach for that awful bowtie".

CCIWFAN3

There's family history behind that bow tie.  It's not for show, it's out of respect.

Okay, armywife.

Was that doubly hard to see Wheaton win and UMHB lose?   ;)

UTD will play a more controlled disciplined style of play.
