Is there an official CCIW all-time team?  If not, has the conference ever considered such an idea? It would be interesting to see a 10-member CCIW basketball team. That might be controversial. But it would generate a lot of interest. The legaue was formed in 1947 and choosing the top 10 in over 60 years of action would not be an easy task.

there is no all-time team - and I, for one, would not want get into the war of picking one.

I think of having one "by decade" would make a lot more sense.

As I said yesterday, the passing of the generations who saw the likes of Johnson and Steagall and Warden and Peterson play, and the fact that a lot -- if not most -- of the people likely to create such a team (ADs, coaches, the two league officials) don't go back all that far in terms of league history (Bosko's a notable exception), would render the process highly suspect, if not entirely invalid.

I second that motion....but, first, is anyone on this board old enough to remember Robert Hildebrand from Illinois Wesleyan?  He played professional basketball in Denver in the early 50's and is the father in the only father-son members of the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame.  His son, Robert Hildebrand, Jr., played for Northwestern University.  Good luck to all four participants in Stevens Point!  I'm really torn.  My daughter is a Carthage grad in 2007 and I helped Coach Duncan Lawson of IWU for many years!  Glad I'm on the road this weekend.

I think we've moved into that eerie space before the NCAA Tournament games when posters are afraid of saying their wrong things to either jinx their own team or unintentionally incite their opponent.

On the D3Football boards it's a very pronounced phenomenon.  Lots of talk flying around on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, but chirping crickets on the end of the week.

Chuck, of course, is the exception to this tendency. This is from yesterday's banter in the D3 tourney fantasy contest room:

Rudy Kirbus had 36 points in two games and is gone.  My 'worst' pick (Matt Hueber of Merchant Marine) had 39 points in two games and is gone.  While there must be dozens of guys that would have been better, I did better than to pick Kirbus!

But, so far, Titan Q still owes me 14 points for 'picking' Sexauer rather than Johnson as my homer pick!  [Maybe we'll get it back as IWU eliminates Stevie D from the tourney! ]

Tugging on Superman's cape, or a setup for a big-time postgame Chuck gloatfest? You decide.

TV 14, on the Time-Warner Cable system in Kenosha, Somers, and Pleasant Prairie will be showing last weekend's games.

Carthage vs. Aurora:
    * Tonight March 9 at 11pm
    * Thursday March 11 at 12:30am (late Wednesday night)
    * Thursday March 11 at 7am
    * Thursday March 11at 9:30pm

Carthage vs. Anderson:
    * Wednesday March 10 at 1am ( immediately following Game 1)
    * Thursday March 11 at 2:30am (immediately following Game 1)
    * Thursday March 11 at 11am
    * Friday March 12 at 1:30am

P.S. I hung out at North Park yesterday for an hour after doing some shadowing at Swedish Covenant while waiting for a train-- It is a nice campus.
