What does "hey-yo" mean?

It's what second banana Ed McMahon used to cry out whenever Johnny Carson would crack a lame joke on The Tonight Show, usually just before or after Johnny got a rimshot from the drummer of the Doc Severinson Orchestra (the show's house band).

I just checked my results for the D3hoops bracket pickem and out of 326 entries I am in 286th place. ouch.

I'm 134th, so not great.  ("If you ain't first, you're last!" - Ricky Bobby).

Mr. Ypsi is in 18th place.

Brace yourselves, gentlemen. If Chuck wins the tourney pick'em on top of the tourney fantasy league, he's going to be absolutely insufferable at least until the CCIW football pick'em starts.

I'm probably doing even worse than you in the tourney pick'em, USee. I have a knack for falling on my face in bracket contests. But at least I already have a set of laurels -- I won the national regular-season pick'em contest this year for the second season in a row -- in case Chuck starts waving all of his postseason plaudits around here. ;)

Fear not, guys, I know of at least two people (Ralph Turner, tied for first, is one of them) above me with identical picks remaining, so maybe I can crack the top ten if all goes well, but I can't win.

And I'm in the bottom half of the women's standings.  I STILL think the Titans are the top team, but UWSP won the rematch. :(

It'd be OK if Ralph won. He'd be representing us HOFers, and he's not a gloater. ;)

Only if I can point out that you also had the MWC getting two teams into the tourney field, with the CCIW only getting in one. ;)

Greg, next time I see you, I'll expect a laurel and hardy handshake.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

That's why I added the bit about my standing in the women's contest - it's my newfound humility! 8-)

I concur about Ralph, for two reasons:

1) He deserves it!

2) That would mean I move up - at least SOME of the 17 above me must have a final other than Guilford over UWSP!

Alas, Ralph (I mean Guilford ;)) falls to Williams, 97-88. :(

Titan Q

The national championship games will be on CBS College Sports Network today.  (I have DirectTV and it is channel 613.)  The men (UW-Stevens Point vs Williams), from Salem, tip at noon CST...the women (Hope vs Wash U), from the Shirk Center, at 2:00pm.  Both should be great games.

Always best to turn the sound down and tune in the D3hoops.com broadcast crew.  The national guys usually role in with very little idea what they're talking about.

Titan Q

The Shirk Center looks like a million bucks on this 50 inch high def picture.  Great to see a packed house and a great atmosphere too.

Very cool.

I thought that the All-American team would be up by now.  When is it is supposed to be released?

It should be up after the women's game.  The big news is that Steve Djurickovic has been named the national Player of the Year by D3hoops.com!

Maybe StevieD should transfer to Stevens Point in pursuit of some team hardware.
