I didn't hear Trost bring up the Harrigan starting idea but it seems to be a good idea due to him being the most familiar with his cousins style of play and tendencies.  Also, starting him at the 2 guard isn't going to hurt the IWU offense much since they don't need offensive production from that spot.

Devildog, I'm pretty sure Trost's reason for starting Harrigan would be "strategical", not "sentimental" or "charitable"

Great, thanks audiedad.  I thought it was being broadcast from d3hoops, not cciw.  BTW good luck tonight.  You guys make me real nervous about picking up a near unheard of 2nd CCIW home loss for IWU.

On a different note, Q you mentioned Harrigan starting tonight for the Titans.  Is this a permanent change or something temporary for tonight's game?  Scott Trost doesn't strike me as a coach who would give out a "charity" or "sentimental" start to a player, but Lord knows I've been wrong before.
Well, the buzz here on campus (I came down early for the game) is a Harrigan v Harrigan matchup!

Im looking forward to watching a great game tonight in Bloomington...I think to many people are still stroking IWU a little to much.  They have lost to Milikin and almost lost to Wheaton at the Shirk.  The Shirk is beatable.  And i will tell you have I have seen all of those teams play so far and I personally don't think Wheaton will come close to playing Augie to a tight game.  The difference is Harrigan drawing so much attention and teams still not being able to shut him down.  He opens up so much space because of  his outside shooting that everyone else gets to work towards the basket pretty easily.  So i think that IWU is vulnerable to be taken to the finish line again up at the Shirk. By no means will there be a 18 point win...this is the year for Augie to win the CCIW outright, but they will have to prove that tonight.

And Harrigan vs. Harrigan will be great!  I will take Augie Harrigan vs. Titan Harrigan.  I hope they fight at half court!!!

You don't think Wheaton will play Augie to a tight game? Correct me if I am wrong wasn't Wheaton up 6 with like a 1:20 left in the game and Harrigan scored 7 or 9 points to win the game for Augie if that's not playing a tight game I don't know what is.

augie22

Sorry i apologize...they lost to Elmhurst and NC and Milikin and Wheaton took them into OT.....they should be feeling good they are still 100% still in the race.

After talking to people on both sides of each team..Augie was in a lull that night but pulled it out at the end...im am not trying to defend my stupidity,,,,,,,you are correct that is a tight game...but not overtime!

I see IWU vs Augie as 3 great players (Dauksas, Amelianovich, Freeman) + role guys vs 2 great players (Harrigan, McAdams-Thorton)  + role guys.  If IWU's big 3 show up, the Titans will be hard to beat at home.

The Pantagraph article says Freeman might have a minor broken nose.

IWU junior Zach Freeman suffered a non-displaced, minor fracture of his nose Tuesday in practice when he collided with a teammate. Freeman will consult with a doctor this morning to determine if he needs to wear a protective guard today. Trost expects his leading rebounder to play.

If he is wearing one of those masks, I can see him being off tonight.

It is tipoff time yet????????????????  Geez this day is dragging.  :)

Methinks Q was pulling your collective legs on Harrigan vs.  Harrigan--and if someone has already pointed this out, excuse me.  There might be a surprising matchup, though.

I would say a "stomping" would be a +10 pt. victory.

I just got home from the Keene State College vs Plymouth State College game here in Keene.  This was my second East Coast game I've watched, and I am convinced that the caliber basketball here is nothing near the CCIW.

You're watching probably the 10th- to 15th-best teams in New England. That happens.

Very dissappointing game tonight.  Augie played good defense, but IWU was very sloppy with the ball and missed a lot of shots late.  The Titans are in a very tough position now in the CCIW.
