...but I think (laugh if you will) that a visit to the John Deere Museum near the Radisson in nearby Moline is worth a visit, if only to get sticker shock at the price of a new combine.

The John Deer Museum is definitely worth the visit.  And, the most popular brew pub in Rock Island, the Blue Cat, is one of my favorites.

There is a state park near the campus that is nice if you wanted to take a hike, if you will.

It occurred to me this morning as I'm preparing to leave that should Hope give me reason to stay around on Saturday, I'm going to have all day in town prior to the 7:00 finals tomorrow. Any suggestions for stuff located in the quad cities while we're there? Is there anything going on Saturday afternoon?

I assume there will be some CCIW posters around tonight so I'll say hello here in advance.

the quad cities are the armpit of America - find a good bomb shelter and hunker down.
So.. the worst SID in the history of the CCIW is writing travel guides now -- Would have thought restaurant reviews would have been more up your alley!
+K for you - just how many CCIW SID's do you know that were complimented by Dennie Bridges?  I enjoyed my 17 years as league SID and I really needed the money.  As for restaurants around the qc the only one i knew was Mulkey's - great fried chicken.  But I stand by the armpit statement.
Dennie Bridges? Dennie Bridges?  Your Hangin your hat on that? ? ??? :o

The Blue Cat is the brew pub we spent time at on parent weekends. It has good bar food and a long list of beverages.

Mactitan,

A few more suggestions for you:

bierstube, they have 35 cent wings on wednesdays, great beer selection.

Riverhouse has pretty decent food

make sure to hit up La Rancherita if you are a fan of mexican and also Poorboys, I think they have the best pizza in the QCA also they have a 2 dollar cheesburger on Thursdays

Johnnys Italian steakhouse is great for "finer" dining.  Also Jim's Rib Haven has some tremendous BBQ, definitely a hole in the wall but worth it.  Granite city is another place to checkout over in Dapenport.  That is about all I can think of off the top of my head.  Hope this helps.

Good win!  Go Titans.  Keep shooting the ball like that -- good D, rebounding and shooting the rock.  Keep it rolling . . .

Titans looking good.  Five players in double figures, all starters . . . and shooting the 3 well (especially Jordan Zimmer), rebouunding and playing good D.  Connolly and Victor Davis with 4 rebounds each.  Good to see Victor Davis back in the rotation.  Team effort . . . keep it rolling, Titans . . .  and good luck tomorrow likely against the Tommies.
