Did anyone else have trouble with the streaming from Augustana?  It was
so choppy and intermittant that we quit watching and used live stats to monitor the score.  Was it due to the number of viewers (almost 300) when we signed on?
Thanks.

und - we had problems just getting the first game on the air in the first place... but the Augustana game was fine from a broadcast point. We have a lot of dedicated space on the Augustana broadband to keep from having loss of signal problems. So my guess is it might have been on your end.

Ustream can handle thousands of simultaneous people watching an event... so over 300 (while impressive), wouldn't have been a cause of your problems.

I am asking this because I don't know your set-up and I am trying to solve the problem for you... but how hold is your computer... how fast is your internet connection (who is it through)... and was anyone else using computers in your house at the same time?

So far... the only complaint about break-up is your post... so I hope we don't have a bigger problem and hope I can get your situation solved so you can enjoy tonight's broadcast!

We had no trouble with the streaming from the women's games in Stevens Point, that's why I asked the question specifically for Augustana.
Our computer is 6 years old, HP (AMD), no one else using computer.
Comcast Broadband (the highest speed).
Thanks for responding.

I had huge problems with the video as well.

I am running on a Cable modem with a brand new computer.

Everything is fast here, but that streaming was freeze framing, skipping, and all kinds of stuff during the Augie game.

It very well might be on my end, but that is what it was doing.

Mostly the picture would freeze and then resume and then freeze again.

It just occurred to me maybe my computer is just angry that I would watch an Augie game?

Dave,

I caught last night's webcast and it was very choppy for me too, particularly in the second half of Augie-UMHB. I have a fairly new computer and rarely have trouble with other webstreams. That said, I really appreciate you guys doing the games. It's a nice service for folks (like me, last night) who can't make it to the games.

Although I missed last night's game (waiting to pass a kidney stone), I plan on being back on the air with Chris Ford on www.HearitfromHome.com for tonight's game, stone or no stone. Should be fun.

Should be a tremendous matchup with two 27-3 teams. Both with great balance and depth. You can't help but be impressed with UST's two wins over Stevens Point. BTW, my favorite stat for Augie is Brian DeSimone's 17 assists and one turnover in 89 minutes in the tournament.

Now, THAT is dedication!

I am going to tune in just in case there is a chance you pass your kidney stone on air.

That will be a very memorable broadcast.

Good luck!   ;D

Thanks. Whatever it takes to get listeners...although I'm not sure my flair for the dramatic is quite that good.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

I'm betting on a Comcast issue.  I watched the entire second half without incident via Time Warner.

Tommies are tough, the Tyler Nicolai show to be sure.  Congrats to them and to Augie on its fine season.  Final Four = Tommies vs. Middlebury, Wooster vs. Williams.  And who says East Coast basketball isn't strong?

My IWU women came back from 23 down to win 61-60, God bless Nikki Preston and her two last second FTs.  A "home Final Four" is here.  It is GRAND!   Women's Final Four = IWU vs. Wash U, Christopher-Newport vs. Amherst.

Should be fun Final Four weekend at The Shirk.  Keep it rolling TITANS!

mactitan

Over the last minute of the game it was Nikki Preston 7, George Fox 0.

Coming back from 23 down in the first half, the Lady Titans are bringing the quest home!

What a truly gutty performance to come back like that.

Wow!

St Thomas' defensive awareness and ability to recover turnovers is really exceptional.

Sorry for the fans that Augustana lost.   :(

Wow!
Tremendous considering the only lead IWU was 61-60 with 04:2 seconds remaining

Tough luck for Auggie

Congratulations to Augustana for a great season.  The defeat stings now, but be proud of what you have accomplished and how bright your future looks.
