Speaking of all state players and future possible recruits for the CCIW, Michael Berg will be a name that will be discussed a lot on the board in the next year. He is a 6'6 junior forward from right here at Midwest Central, where I happen to coach. He averaged 18 ppg, 10 rpg, and 5.7 blocks per game.

He will definitely be a name that everyone in the CCIW will be talking about during the next season. A couple of CCIW schools are already on him pretty good, and he already has interest from about 30 other D3 schools and a handful of Division 1 schools. Just an early heads up.

So just how much of the corn in Manito is he worth?

I'm 100% with you on that one, but Chris is pretty realistic about the situation. He knows that it's the new coach's prerogative whether to keep him or to bring in his own guy to sit in the second chair. If he has to go, I don't think that there will be any hard feelings on his part.

I saw him as a sophomore at Palatine - he would have started for North Park then.

Interesting that Matt Nadlehoffer is rumored to be in the mix at both NPU and Millikin.  Odds are good that my favorite non-IWU CCIW player ever is going to be in the league.

I saw a piece on the City/Suburbs Hoops report at the end of last week that had this... and also had a number of other D-III commitments, but it didn't have CCIW teams mentioned, so I didn't bring it up at the time.  But it does mention Wash U, Roosevelt, St. Francis, and Lewis, among others:

I'm not sure if CCIW teams were on any of these guys, but it's certainly possible.
