I'm just catching wind of the possibility of a Wheaton scrimmage tonight.  Can anyone confirm?

as long as you're not breaking wind :)
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

I confess that a similar joke leaped to my mind, although it involved Wheaton rather than Pete.

I have to remember to pace myself with the snide comments about Wheaton. It's a long season. ;)

Wheaton wins the second 20 minutes 59 34. Not the best benedictine team I've ever seen...

A great performance by Harve Presnell.  Having to listen to Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin sing really sank this movie.  In the stage show "I was born undering a wonderin star" is a show-stopper - Marvin made it very forgettable - too bad.

DP, I thought that you were going to link to this.

One of the great movies of all-time.  I've seen it so many times I can do most of the dialogue by memory.

Yeah, but did that precious songbird Harve Presnell ever charge a Japanese machine gun position on the beach at Saipan? Did he play tough-guy outlaw Liberty Valance, and play him so well that he stole the movie from John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart? Did that silver-screen warbler Harve Presnell lead the Dirty Dozen or M Squad? Did he take a band of mercenaries, including Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan, across the border to rescue uber-babe Claudia Cardinale during the Mexican Revolution? ;)

No, he did not. Lee Marvin did those things. And the one thing that Lee Marvin did wrong (aside from shacking up with Michelle Triola) was to turn down The Wild Bunch in order to star in Paint Your Wagon -- a momentary bout of career insanity that would be the rough equivalent of Chuck Norris turning down The Hitman in '91 in order to take a part in Fried Green Tomatoes. ;D

The closest Harve Presnell ever got to playing a tough-guy role was when he was William H. Macy's greedy father-in-law in Fargo ... and got peppered full of lead in a Minneapolis parking garage by Steve Buscemi for his troubles.

Mr. Ypsi

Lee Marvin in Cat Ballou is enough to make him permanent 'A-list' in my book! ;D

Though he was (over-modestly) correct at the Oscars - the horse deserved Best Actor! 8-)

Steve Buscemi, now there's a man's man for you.  ;)

Titan Q

IWU 6-4 sophomore guard Brady Zimmer, who has been trying to rehab a shoulder injury, has opted for season-ending surgery.

A big loss for the Titans - Zimmer would have played a lot of minutes off the bench this year.

Hopefully Brady will get back to 100% by next October.  I have no idea if a medical redshirt is an option or not.
