one other thing about the North Central game. i didnt realize how good of a passer anthony simmons was. he has great vision in the post. a really good passer out of double teams.

Dennis, if only the other CCIW teams had such "on the road" support, whether asleep or not! Please do a count sometime you are awake and you will find many more faithful Titan green in attendance in addition to the Senior Citizen bus group. I would propose that the largest portion of the "geriatric" know more about basketball and loyality than you APPEAR to!

Read the FAQ's !!! But I got a big Sales Order today so I'll be nice.

Once you have reached 200 posts you can give out/take away Karma.
The FAQ page has a better description of Karma.

I know exactly what you're talking about.....i was just hoping to get out of the hangar without slivers.......thankfully i made it.

but boy oh boy was it hot in there. the North Central site says that attendance was 1200....that's a lot of heat.

i noticed that they opened the "hangar doors" at the west end of the gym during the halftime show....did they keep them open (or were they open?) during the 2nd half? maybe North Central should practice and play with those doors open, create a nice wind current in the arena.......next thing you know the visiting teams can't shoot because they can't gauge the wind! maybe i should go talk to miller (NCC's AD).....

Looking ahead to the CCIW Tournament. I see the first round setting up as Augie vs. NC and EC vs. IWU which are two big time matchups for the CCIW tournament. I don't see anybody beating Augie during the remainder of the reg. season. Tournament time.. well anything and everything could happen. I can feel the excitement building allready.

Jaybird,

That's a pretty bold statement when you figure they still have to play just about everyone a 2nd time. Wheaton is never an easy place to play, NCC in Naperville will be very tough and Wesleyan in Rock Island is still a difficult task for Augie.

Johnny Augie....having good Karma is overated...im sure its the Titan nation who don't talk on this board anymore giving you the bad karma. I would worry about it. They don't chat on here anymore, so the just knock you will bad karma. (If that doesn't get me some bad points i dont know how you get them).

I don't see it either, but then again I'm not making the trip to any of their games. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost one or two more. It's just too tough to get all the way through the CCIW.

Although the tournament is taking some shape at this point, and the national picture from the CCIW taking some shape, let me put things in my perspective from down under a bit.

*THe SLIAC tournament, whether it was a blimp in a straight line last year or normal for the Sliac that a 6-8 team or a 7-7 team would make the tournament, I don't see a team getting into the tournament with less than a .500, and I would prefer a team with at least a 8-6 record. Therefore I am operating on the 8-6 record ruler.

Team Tourney Status NCAA Tournament

1. Augustana In, Home Court A Lock (A or C)

2. IWU Not In yet, but given the C lock.....can't see a
lower four, could start packing team ranked #1
their bags. most of season
being left out

3. Elmhurst same as # 2, but vulnerable If they don't win
Big game on Sat, and NCC the AQ, the only way
in, is to finish a game
ahead of IWU in
conference. Call me
old-fashion, but I do
not see someone
lower be taken over
a higher seed.

4. NCC Same as Elmhurst Really on the bubble
I can't see four teams
from the CCIW in the
NCAA. If Elmhurst
drops below NCC,
NCC high chance of
NCAA.

5. Wheaton Has to play about everyone if not OUT
everyone, would be a major feat,
almost the impossible to go 5-2

6. Carthage Cannot afford to go 3-3 OUT
They travel to Augustana, NCC
and Wheaton. Must play Elmhurst
at home, but Elmhurst enjoys
playing at Carthage. Carthage playing
better ball, but cannot afford a misstep
anywhere along their path just to get
to the tourney

7. North Park Cannot afford an 8th loss OUT
*Will not go 5-0 the rest of the way
Must play NCC and E-hurst

8. Millikin Cannot afford and 8th loss OUT
*Will not go 5-0 the rest of the way
Have top teams yet to play

What is wrong with my perspective? Boy am I leaving myself open with that question?

Of course, there is one assumption that can't be made and tht is that the conference tournament goes according to seeding.....and I wouldn't bet the farm on that one!

the only thing that i can say confidently right now is that i believe the CCIW has 4 of the top 25 teams in the nation.....possibly top 20.....and just the thought that most likely not all of the 4 will make the tourney makes my chest hurt......or maybe that's the mcdonald's $.59 cheeseburgers.....

anyway......it always stinks to see teams that deserve to be in these tourneys not get in. and it's no different in this case. i believe that all of these 4 teams can compete with the nation's best D3 programs.

just one man's opinion.
