Coyle looks like an excellent recruit, a good fit for the Titans, especially if he can play the 2.  Keep them coming.

Voiles in the NBA?  Can't quite see it.  Perhaps playing in Europe or China . . .

The Doggies must be pissed about their season, not making the Dance.

IWU70

P.S.  Enjoying some fine fine softball by the women Titans, taking down #7 ranked UW-WW yesterday bigtime, (with two walk-off homers to complete the 8 run rule demolition in both games), and taking down a doubleheader's worth of DePauw today.  Lots of games, . . .  lots of sore arms, I would bet.  Molly McCready might be the one that takes the Titans to the next national title.

Happy Easter to all the CCIW Chatsters!!!

Just noticed we are on page 1984 - was George Orwell a sports fan?! ;D

no - but he liked animals and farms
A must read for all high school freshmen(with 1984)

Oops - my post ended up being the lead post on page 1985. ::)

If anyone wrote that novel, it died without a trace! 8-)
Anthony Burgess wrote 1985 (pub in 1978) as a tribute to Orwell's 1984. Who knew?

Oops, again!  At least a mildly successful commentary on 1984, plus a novella.

But if anyone wrote 1986, I can't find it! 8-)

[BTW, my understanding is that George Orwell was gaga for football (soccer).]

Bill Buckner

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

I got that that was your reference, but while Buckner might be the subject of 1986, no way would he be the author! :P  He seems to still hold that as a really sore topic.

I ask that you keep Chuck (aka Mr. Ypsi) and his family in your prayers as Chuck's father passed away unexpectedly this weekend.  Thanks.

Chuck----

Condolences to you, and the rest of your family in the loss of your dad. Been through the same experience, and can imagine your pain. I pray that your remembrance of the good times you spent together will help ease the pain you're currently experiencing.

Chuck, very sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.  Sending you my support and condolences at this difficult time for you and all your family.

Olivet College has named Chris Coles of Saginaw Valley State as its new head men's basketball coach. Coles has been an assistant at SVSU for the last 5 years.

North Central head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Todd Kelly was one of the 4 finalists for the job.
While Coach Coles' appointment is a loss for Coach Kelly personally, it is no doubt North Central's gain as, in his 3 years at NCC, Kelly and his able staff have assembled the best crop of recruits that North Central has seen in many years. Evidence of this is seen in the major roles played in this year's CCIW regular season and tournament championships by several players brought in since Kelly's arrival in Naperville.

Chuck, so sorry for your loss.  I believe that I live relatively close to you, PM if you need anything.  My prayers are with you.  Peace to you and your family.
