Wheaton also outrebounded Augie 29-20. wow. Very big win for the Thunder

USee, I actually think that stat is simply a function of Wheaton missing only 20 shots (FTs included) to Augustana missing 35.   Augie beat Wheaton 14-6 on offensive boards.

--- On second glance, I think you're looking at fouls in the boxscore.    Not used to seeing 29 fouls on a team, huh????

Carthage beat Elmhurst 65-61.  Very big game for Mitch Thompson (21 pts, 8 Rebounds and 3 Blocks).  Carthage was without Tyler Pierce (didn't catch why), so they had to go deep into the bench, but got quality minutes out of Marlon Senior (9 pts; 8 Rebounds) and Kiston Lee (8 pts, 3 RBs, 3 Assts).

Nick Sanford had a big game for Elmhurst (16 pts; 15 Rebounds) and D'Ante Foster had 14 pts, 5 Rebounds and 5 Steals.

All things considered (no Pierce and subpar game for Logan (foul trouble)), I'm glad they got out of there with a win.

Mr. Ypsi

Finally a final in Chicago - IWU 86, NPU 59.

Yes, another big, good win for the Titans.  Keep it rolling, guys!  Zimmer with 22, several players with 9, and Kevin Reed playing well with 12 and 11, a double-double.  Gotta love the balance, the deep bench, and the development of several good perimeter scorers.  Overstreet again had a good game with 10 assists, 8 rebounds and 7 points -- not a bad line at all for your PG.  Big lead by midway through the second half so everyone off the bus got some floor time.

I'm surprised by the WC win at Augie, at least by that margin.  I guess when you're hot you're hot.  NCC-IWU game is going to be a good one.

Greetings to all the chatsters from the Far Side.  I'm back in Asia, back teaching in Hong Kong so have to watch the games now in the morning . . . Lunchtime for me now.  Miss all my friends in Ames Library.

Keep it rolling, Titans!!!  Enjoy the journey, often more important than the destination.

Wheaton 86
Augustana 67

http://www.augustana.edu/athletics/mbasketball/stats/2012-13/13mbb16.htm

The jumpers were falling tonight.  11-15 beyond the arc.  27-42 from the floor overall.

Wheaton played most of the game without Tyler Peters who played only 13 min due to foul trouble.  My guess is if the game was closer, Schauer would've tried to get him more minutes, but Wheaton kept expanding the lead with him on the bench.  There were 49 fouls called in the game.  It seemed like every play just had to have a whistle.

Michael Kvam had 21
Brayden Teuscher had 19

Ben Ryan had 17 for Augie.

Wow.

Yep. I misread the box.  Augie 25 boards to Wheatons 20.  Still a big win. Kvam 5-6 from the arc after going 5-27 in the conference games before tonight.  He picked a good time to break out of his shooting slump.

How does a team forget their uniforms? I could understand a player forgetting a uniform (though not really... you always pack your back, check, double check, and check your neighbor's bag), but a whole team?

Someone associated with IWU's basketball team - I'm not sure who is in charge of the uniforms - made an enormous mistake today.  An unfortunate and embarrassing situation.  The Zimmers had to turn around on I-55 and go back to the Shirk to get the uniforms for pete's sake.

Knowing Ron Rose, I'm sure he apologized profusely to North Park personnel tonight.  I'll bet he felt awful.

I'm sure that they felt bad... and it really is an unfortunate situation.

The procedure just struck me as odd, since we always got our uni's before we left and packed our own bags.

Funny situation with the IWU unis.  Glad Ron Rose didn't feel sorry enough to let NP steal one in the crackerbox, with the late start, waiting of the crowd.  Hope there was enough popcorn for the waiting multitudes.  Slip out for a burger . . . as one waits for the Zimmermobile to arrive with Greenies?

Sure do like the looks of the Titans so far in conference play, perimeter and post play . . . and that big 5-0 record sitting atop the standings.

Keep it rolling, Green.

Pretty disappointed in the way the game/uniform situation was handled last night.  I show up at NPark around 7:20 and buy a ticket.  There was absolutely no mention that the game was going to be delayed over an hour.  I got up and left.

Granted, it was only $5 but shouldn't there be a common courtesy on someones part working there to notify fans the game is delayed BEFORE they pay for it?!?

And yes, I get it was IWU's fault this all happened.
