Usee, the NESCAC does not allow their football teams to compete in playoffs.  This was also true of the basketball teams until 2000.  It is due to academic schedules.

It was some years before 2000 when the NESCAC loosened the restrictions on postseason play.

First, a thank you to the Titans for a great season.  Very proud of the Titans players, support staff , coaches and the athletic department.

Second, a congratulations to North Central.  Nice run and representation of the CCIW.

Next season, I think we will see a little more balance and parity in the CCIW.  Good things happened at North Park and Millikin IMHO that will make the entire conference tougher.  I have no doubt Elmhurst will select a good coach; and, best wishes to Coach Scherer whom announced his retirement from Elmhurst.  The remainder of the conference has good foundations to build upon.

I think Q has the conference projection right based upon what we know today.  It will be interesting to see what recruitment brings to each team.

Wasn't Williams in 1998 their first venture to Salem?

That has been well known for a long time, even by me. Thus ZERO wins in the post season. Zero! Can you believe that!

Actually Williams first appearance in the NCAA tournament for DIII was in 1994.  The conference did not start doing its own tournament until the 2001 season.

Regarding Elmhurst and Coach Scherer-
Mark Scherer is a great person and a great leader. Nobody should question his ability to motivate players and be a leader on and off the court. He has been able to mentor a number of quality players over the years in Knuppel, Martin, etc.  Were the Wins not there recently?  Maybe not enough, but Elmhurst has never been a bball prowess.  IMO, Scherer helped put Elmhurst bball on the map.

Moving forward- I think Elmhurst needs to find a proven winner who is looking to stay at the school for the long haul.  Not somebody who plans to be at the school for just 2-3 years and then move on to something else.  With the last few years being a tailspin back to the lower rungs of the CCIW ladder, I think you (EC) can ill afford to choose a newbie who has not been immersed in the CCIW competition.  Just my 2 cents.

OK all you Wesleyan guys. Lets get it in gear.  ;)
Surprised no one has reported the Weenies first recruit, 6'3" SG Jordan Turner of Woodstock, IL.
Evidently he'll start out behind regular rotation players, sophomore Pat Sodemann, and junior Brady Zimmer, and possibly any other SGs, already on the roster.

This would seem to lend even increased credence to the possibility of John Baines returning to EC. Should he not apply, not be offered the position if he does, or turn it down if an offer is extended, a couple of CCIW assistant coaches quickly come to mind.

Q, broke this news days ago, about Turner. Better get over that well earned Salem hangover.

All this talk of next year has got me itching for more.

I have again taken the liberty of starting to compile recruiting classes from the limited recruiting information we know (either that has been posted on this board, or has been tweeted on twitter). All should feel free to add to the list, add information or statistics as more information comes out.

I can't wait to see how teams develop in the league this off season. Next year can't come soon enough!

My apologies. I only quickly checked back a page or two and didn't see it. I've been out of the state for the last 4 days and out of the loop.
