He shall henceforth be known as "Dr. AndOne,"  -- though not sure I would want my doctor to foul me first, then have "AndOne" later.  For Overstreet's sake, I hope the prognosis expounded by several here and at IWU of about 2-3 weeks of rehab, no surgery, and a pretty full recovery by Wash U or Franklin -- well, that would be a very good outcome.  Dolan gets to taste the starting, varsity medicine big time tonight in Iowa vs. Coe, tomorrow vs. Loras.  Sounds like Zimmer is indeed ready to rock and roll today, too.

GO TITANS -- give Coe and Loras their medicine.

IWU70

The Dr is.......... IN! LOL.  :)

Don't forget. When Overstreet does come back it will take him a few games to regain top form.

The Weenies up by almost 40 at HALFTIME. Smashing!
I would have thought they would have needed the entire game to build that much of a point differential.

Final from Cedar Rapids:

IWU 106
Coe 62

* Andrew Ziemnik: 23 pts, 10 reb
* Victor Davis: 22 pts, 9 reb (10-10 FG)
* Bryce Dolan: 12 pts (4-5 3-point)

Rebounds: IWU 42 Coe 23

IWU FG: 43-65 (66%)
IWU 3-point: 17-28 (61%)

IWU's 17 3-pointers is the second most in a single game in school history.

The Titans are very talented and deep.  They'll face Loras tomorrow in Dubuque.

Wow, Titans had a great night shooting the basketball.  When you have 12 threes by half-time, it's a pretty special night.  Good to see big big games by Zman and Vic Davis, excellent shooting from Dolan and Sodemann and Zimmer getting some minutes, hopefully getting back into the flow, slowly.  The Titans responded to Coach Rose on the rebounding front tonight.

Titans 3-0 -- on to Loras tomorrow night.

Thanks for the summary Q -- I was @ The Shirk watching the women beat Cornell, an excellent and very big team, 79-70.  Shelby Jackson and Lexi Baltes had big nights tonight.  Cornell has a Kuzmanic too -- like Carthage -- this one the younger sister, a sophomore.  Seibring played well for periods tonight too -- but Collen McMahon just couldn't buy a basket tonight.

Big day tomorrow with football and more basketball -- home and away.

Jimmy Millikin over Loras in Iowa tonight, 79-76.  Perhaps we are beginning to see how good MU is going to be.

Titans @Loras tomorrow, and MU goes over to Coe -- to take on the team that the Titans slammed tonight by 44.

Wheaton stomped Spalding tonight out in Wooster, OH, 72-47. Tyler Peters netted 22, Nate Haynes had quite a double-double with 16 and 17, and Brayden Teuscher added 15 ... while Michael Berg, no doubt highly motivated by a desire to make AndOne put a sock in it, ;) added eight and eight.

The orangies will get to face the host Fighting Scots tomorrow night in the Al Van Wie title game.

Carthage is leading Alma in a relatively tight game in the Toolshed in CC's season opener.

Carthage 84
Alma 78

Not often you see a team get beat on the boards by 18 and outshot from the field by 12% and still come away with the win, but that's what happened tonight in the Toolshed. The Red Men made the most of a 18-4 turnover advantage and made hay from the FT line, where they shot a whopping 39 attempts to only 11 for a considerably less quick Scots team. Marlon Senior led Carthage with 17 and 6, Kevin Sykes, Jr. added 16, Reese Herth had 13, Donte Logan had a dozen, and Jason Scott had 10. The new big man, Mike Kastel, looked like he'll be useful -- he had 7 and 9, although he was an ugly 3-11 from the field.

Anyone see this game?  Had to work.

Worried about rebounding  ???

What's this Toolshed thing?

For any IWU fans interested, the On Demand replay of the IWU/Coe game is here...

That first half is about as good a half of basketball as I've ever seen from the Titans.  The Sweet 16 game @ Roanoke in 1995-96 will always be #1, but last night was really something.

Big game in Ohio today as Wheaton faces one of the true Division III powerhouses - College of Wooster - at 6:00pm Eastern/5:00pm Central.

Wooster's last 5 seasons:
2012-13: 24-6/14-2
2011-12: 26-5/12-4
2010-11: 31-3/14-2
2009-10: 25-6/15-1
2008-09: 23-7/14-2

The 10 before look just about the same.

Wooster is #8 in the 2013-14 D3hoops.com preseason poll.  The Scots are the NCAC favorite this season.

That was ridiculous.  The whistles weren't even in the Titans favor.

Might FT shooting be the Beer Nuts Achilles Heel this season, and might it be the difference down the stretch should they ever get into a closely contested game? In the early going they are shooting 65.6% from the line.

Bob said it first and I'll repeat. Last night's first half at Coe rivaled the 1996 Sweet 16 road game at Roanoke when IWU led 70-19 just before halftime. As spectacular as the shooting was, IWU's defensive effort was almost as impressive. Coe is an above average D3 team and might win their league. Overstreet goes down and Dolan goes 4/5 for 3s with 2 assists and no TOs with 12 points in 19 minutes.

Perhaps they should consider backing up to the 3-pt. line for FTs! ;D

How many does Jack Taylor have?  ::)

And why did IWU call their team the Beer Nuts?  Is that a corporate sponsorship deal?  ???
