Yes, they were the Red Devils when the Reagan brothers, Dutch and Moon, attended Eureka.

Eureka appears to be the only college  known as the Red Devils.
There are 26 high schools around the country that use Red Devils as their nickname/mascot name.

With the abundance of "political correctness" groups that seems to spring up with regularity everywhere, I'm a little surprised there are that many as, of course, having Red Devils as a nickname promotes devil worship.  ???   ::)

I may have said this before and I'll likely say this again, but the Eastern European studies major inside of me thinks that the Division III institutions with Berlin Wall monuments should play a tournament.  They could host it in November 2019.

Obviously, Eureka and Westminster along with Johns Hopkins and Chapman University.  And, maybe they could get Loyola Marymount to host the tourney and bring in another Division I such as Northern Arizona.

I guess the satanists don't mind the publicity? Or the liberals haven't felt appropriately offended for them...

I'll stop before I actually offend someone...

WUH,

Should such a tournament be held, the folks at D III Capital (OH) University might be offended if you didn't include them.
And, if D Is are being included, Kennesaw (GA) State might accept an invitation.

It's not half as surprising as the fact that DePaul University, a Catholic school, is called the Blue Demons. Or that Wake Forest University, which has had an historical relationship with the North Carolina Baptist Convention, is called the Demon Deacons.

I did not realize Capital had a monument as well.  Maybe by 2019, I will have forgiven the University along with their Women's Soccer team and their possible Player of the Year keeper for taking out our No.1 ranked team in penalties last weekend. 20 shots on goal and she managed to block 19 along with two penalty kicks and now they are in the Final Four.

Good luck to Capital in San Antonio next weekend!

Carthage nips #4 Wash U at the Toolshed, 82-80, as Alan Aboona of Wash U missed a long-range trey at the buzzer. Closely-played game most of the way, but the Red Men were a little better in the intangible categories of hustle and execution. Still, Wash U had every chance to win, but the Bears blew a lot of points at the FT line. Marlon Senior (28 pts) was the best player on the floor tonight.

I am very impressed with how well Marlon Senior played tonight.  He played incredibly well.  Donte Logan did a really good job (big steal in the last minute); Kevin Sykes played well on offense as well.  It was one of those games where I felt that Carthage was mostly hitting on all cylinders and Wash U, which is a fabulous team, blew their chances to win (free throws).

I really liked the defense.  Looked more like what I expected with tough perimeter D and guard quickness, that I didn't quite see on Saturday.  A good indicator that Carthage will be competitive in the CCIW.

Wow, good win for Carthage tonight over Wash U. Congrats to them.

IWU has Wash U at The Shirk on December 7th.  Titans need the time off, need to get more guys healthy and back in the mix, esp. Rossi and Overstreet.  Any word on when these guys and the others might get back?

Brandon Heyen gets x-ray of his leg (stress fracture) on Monday, Dec. 2nd in hopes be cleared to play.

Iwufan

here is what i know of the injury updates for IWU

Dylan Overstreet-- began rehab on his knee last Sunday and it is progressing well, cleared to run and shoot...could maybe play vs Wash U if Dr clears him. For sure need him back healthy, so they will not rush it if not ready, then probably for Chicago.  He will need a few games to get his legs back.

Alex Rossi--should be ready to play by Wash U with the 10 days off.

Jordan Nelson--went thru warm-ups vs Wabash, should be able to play at Wash U.  His is more getting into shape and learning the IWU plays.

Brady Zimmer--should see more playing time as the season goes, getting back into shape.

Brandon Heyen--may get cleared to practice Monday---if so, probably will need some practice and some jv time before he could possibly contribute at the varsity level, has not played since a very limited jv schedule his freshman year.

10 days off will be good for the Titans to get healed and regroup for Wash U.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, IWUfan, for the update and report.

Sounds like many Titans are getting healthy, ready to play in December.  Hope they don't rush Overstreet back too soon -- we need him at full strength for the CCIW run.  Glad to hear all the news on the others.  Marietti?

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Carthage vs. UW-Oshkosh--Oshkosh is a very young team--10 frosh--but they are a tough bunch, played St Norbert to the buzzer.   Should be a good one for those of you who can attend.
