And One - interesting point regard Nelson and his celebrations after making 3 balls.  I believe you made a comment about that after IWU beat Wheaton in the last regular season game.  It seemed the "basketball gods" possibly didn't like the celebrations either as Nelson made just 30.8% of his three point attempts in the seven games after the Wheaton contest, including an 0-6 against Whitewater.

Making 3's is often a very streaky thing - can never get too high or low because things can change awful quick.

CCIW fans.. I need a little Map help... I'm counting on coming up to see Westminster and Greenville play at Elmhurst on Nov 15... Google Maps tells me to get off of 55 on Kingery (83), take it all the way up, and get on W St Charles over to Elmhurst

My question is, is Kingery a major Shopping Route where I could get caught up in Massive pre holiday Shopping traffic between 55 and W St Charles?   Should I just take 55 to 294, go on up North, and over to Elmhurst?

Any expert help will be appreciated... It will be a LONG day with 5 hours to, 4 games, and 5 hours home.... But heck, it's opening day of D3 hoops!!!

I would definitely not take 83 from 55 to the college.  294 north to St Charles Rd gets you really close.  You could also take 55 to 355N to 88 to 83.

Yup, Nelson had a bad game in the national semis last year.  Titans this year likely to be a 3 ball dominated team, so could live by it and die by it.  I'm hoping some solid play will emerge from others at the 3, 4 and 5, to give added strength, scoring to the obvious talent IWU has on the perimeter with Overstreet, Sodemann, Nelson, Dolan and Stempel (perhaps Brady Rose, too, from what I've heard).   Really hoping Heyen gets healthy, gets back.   Need big years, big improvements from Coyle, Seibring, Marietti, and perhaps a few others getting some minutes in the varsity rotation in the front court -- Connelly or others?  Time will tell.  When the Titans are hitting the treys, I'm sure there will be some celebrating.  Dolan and Sodemann can light it up too.  But no Zman or Mayberger now, so gotta find some other options, some other 3 ball shooters to stretch the floor from the 3 and 4.  No wonder Ron Rose is talking about a three guard set-up.

G/W scrimmage this Saturday, the 8th, 2 p.m.  Opening day, tip-off the 15th at Benedictine in Lisle.

GO TITANS!!   Getting excited.

Will be interested to hear your thoughts on Elmhurst.  I think they might be ready to make some noise this year in the CCIW.
Safe travels.

Hopefan,

Toooldto has the right idea. Route 83 is the western border of the Oak Brook Shopping Center which, on a Saturday, is a zoo and no place you want to be anywhere close to. Additionally, I'm pretty sure you can't get off northbound I 294 at either St. Charles Rd. or North Ave.

Accordingly, I recommend I55 to I355. Take 355 north to North Ave. Go right on North Ave 4.82 miles to Maple. Right on Maple to the RR tracks. As Maple crosses the tracks it becomes Prospect. 2nd street over the tracks is Water St. Go right on Water. Faganel Hall (gym) is 2nd building on the right. Parking lot directly across Water St. from the gym.
Most direct route. 355 is a toll road.

I can't make it to NPU's scrimmage tonight, as I have to work the Elmhurst @ North Park CCIW soccer semifinal over at Hedstrand Field. But I hope to get a report from some eyewitnesses afterwards.

Augie scrimmage tweet...

Grey Giovanine @Augustana_Hoops  3 hours ago
Vikes win two halves vs. Il Benedictine U. last night in scrimmage...49-32 &
50-31. Balanced & unselfish (19 assists). @ Bradley Thursday!

Benedictine dropped the "Illinois" part of its name 18 years ago. Is Giovanine aware of this, and just tweeting that in order to needle Keith Bunkenburg for some reason? ;)

Then again, it might've been an honest mistake on the Augie coach's part. Heck, I still run into Chicagoans every now and then who refer to UIC as "Circle."

Coaches' poll looks about right to me.  Wouldn't argue with it much at all.

IWU Green/White scrimmage this Saturday, 2 p.m. at The Shirk.  Should be interesting, especially to see the new faces, those emerging from the pine to take on more major roles in the new edition.

Fan bus for away games will be operating again this season.
