Here's an idea Augie 2000...with no class Friday, go watch the first game early or go talk to the AD and ask to have a student section saved

I think both Elmhurst and North Central need to win the tournament and be the AQ to get into the NCAA Tournament.  I think both schools are in the same boat.  Obviously one of the 2 will lose Friday and the loser won't make the tournament.
I think Augie is allready in and is now playing for a home or away 1st rounder.  I think if they lose Friday they might be on the road 1st round.
IWU is tough to call.  I think the Titans if they make it to the Champ. game of the CCIW Tournament will make the tournament with a win or a loss.  If they lose Friday I think their chances are slimmer.
For Elmhurst the UW-Platteville and IWU loss in Bloomington were games that they should have shut the door.  Should a, coulda, woulda, well you know.  There's still a possibility of 2 games so make the most of it.  Good luck to all 4 teams at the tournament.

Dang... do I win a prize for the longest post of the week, that no one will have the patience to read?  :D

oops guilty  :-[........I made up for it a read the whole thing.

Really I did ;D

Superfan,
No can do with the AD,  he says that the event is not Augie's event and belongs to the CCIW, therefore he cannot save a student section.  Looks like We'll just have to get there early, to sit in OUR seats.

You'll have to get their pretty early to beat the green machine.

Of course with the late start time, they'll slumber midway through the 2nd half.

LOL  ;D ;D

just kidding, weenies, just kidding  :D :D :D

In Trumbull, CT for a meeting in the morning...where did all of the snow go???

I read the Tribune article at Midway this morning - that's the best Division III feature in a major newspaper I've ever seen.  I think you actually have to see the newspaper version (as opposed to just reading online) to appreciate how much space one of the nation's largest papers spent on D3 basketball today.  I liked the map with the locations of all CCIW, MWC, and NIIC schools.  Great piece.

Sager if your looking for a quick victory for your vikes, take a tip from the Serb... Taylor Fort Wayne, Dominican, and Marycrest are great examples....

That is of course if you can get them on the schedule before they disband their athletic programs

Redmen40,
Not only are Marycrest's athletic programs already disbanded, so is their whole school. It no longer exists. By the way the feathers don't offend me in the least.

Q,

The snow has pretty much gone from New England.  The big snow that we had a week and a half ago was very dry and fluffy (like Prikkel's hair) and didn't last long.  We have not had much snow this winter especially compared to last.   I don't miss it.  It gets tiring watching my wife shovel the driveway hour after hour.  It really disrupts the flow when you are watching a good tv show.

Joe, you cheapskate.... I gave my wife a snow-blower.

But with all my chins sometimes its really hard getting my mouth down on the driveway.  ;D

Dennis you by far have the  best sense of humor on this board...I crack up at almost all of your posts

correctingtitan

Dennis--That is not  a  unanimous  opinion.  But you do crack me up at times.

Dennis is actually the funniest when he doesn't mean to be.  My wife also has a snowblower but I have her shovel once in a while so that she appreciates the snowblower even more when she uses it.

One more fact about IWU's lack of in-region games. Titan Q is correct in saying that IWU was avoided like the plague by Midwest Region teams this year. An example: Blufton College of the Heartland Conf. agreed initially to participate in the Wabash Tip-Off Tourney. In fact, the initial IWU schedule released in Oct. shows that the 4 teams participating in the tournament were IWU, Blufton, Wabash, and Alma. But when Blufton found out that they were to be victim #1 for IWU, Blufton backed out of its committment to Wabash and their AD had to scramble to replace the Blufton Chickens (isn't that their name?) with the U. of Texas @ Dallas.

So, if IWU loses Friday, they will be victimized by the silly in-region rule even though they played one of the toughest D3 nonconference schedules in the nation and won all of them, many in blowouts. One other fact: IWU beat an excellent Puget Sound team handily in CA and that non-in-region win against another D3 team means nothing, or practically nothing, when Pool C bids are determined.

I will admit that IWU has been a different team once the CCIW season started and will have no one to blame but themselves if they lose Friday and wash their uniforms Tuesday.

One last point about the conf. tournament: I think the tournament was a 2-year experiment to be revisited after the trial run. If the 2006/07 season is like this season, the tournament may be history after next year.
