WOW!!  I never realized that every single player in the Elmhurst rotation is a junior!  If they continue to progress, they should be odds-on favorites next season.  But the following season .... :o  (Having such a loaded class can be great when they're seniors, but can be hell the next year, or two or three.)

Considering the Augie games, the Shirk alone is obviously not worth 30 points!  Let's show the Blue Jays that @Elmhurst was the fluke, not @Bloomington.  Lose and the Titans are very much on the bubble.  Win and you're almost assuredly in.  Win the next game too, and even chicanery can't keep you out!

Mr. Ypsi

It appears that the MWC had nearly the same situation for MVP/MOP/POY as the CCIW.  Ty Sabin (sophomore) of 4th place Ripon scored 28.4 ppg, hitting 52.7% overall from the field, 42.7% from deep; he was only CO-POY with Andrew Schwoerner (senior) of undefeated champion St. Norbert who scored 16.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg.

Warning to visitors to the CCIW Chat (as I will always call it): bring a translator, or perhaps several! :o

I confess I was bluffing about challenging Greg to Japanese Haiku - what have I spawned??!! ;D

Oh, well - I'm sure I got ol' Willie S. spinning in his grave.  After 400 years, he could use the exercise! ;)

Whoa. Easy there, big fella. You need to look at Augie's roster, too. Seven of the ten players in Grey Giovanine's rotation are coming back next season ... and that includes five of the six guys who've played more than 19 mpg.

It all depends upon what John Baines is able to assemble in the classes behind them. At this point, the only commodity that we really know about is Nathan Rogers, although I liked what I saw of Brandon Auker and Chris Parrilli in this season's EC @ NPU JV game. Caleb Mowry might turn into something, too.

The point is, it's way too early to make any judgments about 2016-17 for anybody. Keep in mind that the players he's recruiting right now will be sophomores by then.

A foreign language monster has been created.  Nice job AO.  Guess the hidden talents of posters are really coming to the fore now.  Sige, sige, sige -- that's Tagalog for "go ahead, go ahead!"

Agree with Greg, too early to tell what squads will look like for the coming few seasons.  NPU has a lot coming back too, right?  Yes, they need some quality bigs.  IWU has a lot coming back even with the three seniors -- Overstreet, Sodemann, and Nelson - departing from the starting line-up.  IWU has that long roster, very deep numbers and also some pretty good JV prospects who will get their chance after roster hoarding clears a bit.  LOL.  Always departures, injuries and various forms of disaffection, taking their toll.

Enjoy the weekend games, all.

It's also the Spanish for the same: sigue, sigue.

Should be a fantastic weekend of games at Roy J. Carver.  Can NCC topple the home team and take out the winner of the #2 vs. #3 rubber match?  If Augie takes out the Cardinals, will Saturday's game be detrimental to the Pool C hopes of the other semi-final winner?  Congrats to "Big Jack" Burchett for a much deserved CCIW 1st team selection.  I still think Moten earned more ink on the apposing team's scouting report than some of the other all conference selections.  The injury absence really hurt.

To answer your question bbfan44 (although I suspect you already knew), Juwan Henry, who I absolutely think was TBP "The Best Player" in the conference this year had 2 coaches that could have argued in a vacuum against their respective teams that JH was less than stellar.
Sometimes the stats don't lie:

Henry vs. Augie (2 games)
AVG:  16 pts
Shot 32.5% from the field (13-40)
Shot 36.4% from 3 (4-11)
A/TO  4 assists to 5 turnovers

Henry vs. Elmhurst (2 games)
AVG: 16 pts
Shot 31.4% from the field (11-35)
Shot 25.0% from 3 (3-12)
A/TO 1 assist to 3 turnovers

Could Grey or Baines left him off?

Don't write off NCC, boys.. Jayme Moten, Brandon White, Joe Kennell, Irwin Henry, and Kevin Honn all played massive minutes this year and all return.
Plus, it is safe to say that the #1 recruit coming to the CCIW next year is 6'7 guard Connor Raridon. If NCC can add a big fella to the team, I would say they will be among the top teams in the CCIW next year.

unanimous22

Yeah, Raridon is gonna be a beast in this league for the foreseeable future.
