Key conference championship title games tomorrow..

MIT @ Worcester Polytech (12:00pm CST)

Root like heck for the teams in bold...each is one of the crossed out teams in the top 10 above and a Pool C lock if they lose the Pool A.
Half Time WPI 37 MIT 26

For the CCIW -- GO WPI

Mr. Ypsi

In the Daily Dose, Pat projects IWU as the 13th C team taken.  Since he has a very good track record on predicting the field, even if he's a couple of slots high and WPI and Mississippi College BOTH get upset, the Titans should still be safely within the top 18.

Nevertheless, why take chances?  Go WPI and MissC!!

WPI is up big on MIT (54-38, I believe).  This is good news for IWU and the CCIW's chances at a third team in the tourney.

Correct 5:45 left to play - not a lot of folks at this game

I watched the ODAC final the other day between Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon.  Both of those teams were very solid.  I think either one of them would have competed this year for the top half of the CCIW and a spot in the CCIW tourney, and either one of them could have won the CCIW tourney.

Today, watching the NEWMAC final between MIT and WPI is a very different story.  WPI is something crazy like 24-3, and I'm sorry, but they are just not that good.  In my opinion, they would easily be in the bottom half of the CCIW, probably below Wheaton and Carthage.

IWUM, I'd be curious if you'd agree based on what you're watching.

Yes, and, on any given night Millikin would win too

Since Millikin and North Park are the only CCIW teams I haven't seen this year, I didn't want to comment on them, but I had a feeling Millikin would be able to compete with WPI.  It makes me wonder just how bad some of those teams are that finished in the bottom half of WPI's conference.

Anybody know if the Miss Coll game is on the radio or streaming anywhere?

Check here.  You might be surprised how much information is available on this site outside of the chatrooms.

Thanks DC!  I actually did look at the live audio links, but I forgot about the Daily Dose.

I think based on the criteria provided by Titan Q and others that Augie and IWU are locks for tourney. Both, along with NCC, are among the top 25 teams in D3 and deserve to be in the tourney.

The WIAC and the ODAC are certainly the conferences to be reckoned with in the tourney, but I think Lawrence is not a team any of us want to play in the first round. The MWC is a relatively weak conference overall, but both Lawrence and Carroll are very good teams, that will give our teams a run for their money. Inevitably one of our teams will run into Lawrence early on.

Whitewater and Stout look to be in from the WIAC and perhaps one other. None of us want a road game at a WIAC venue, but that too seems likely. All this meansis we'll have to beat some of the toughest teams in the tourney to get out of our region. The CCIW team that gets sent out of the region could be the fortunate one.

Congratulations to Coach Raridon and the Cardinals for keeping their composure to pull out the win last night.  That would have been a tough loss for them--as it happened, it was one of the toughest losses I can remember in thousands of basketball games.  The teams basically played to dead even, with NCC taking the first half and IWU the second...except for the final score.

I wish all CCIW teams going on--and I hope the Titans are in that group--well in the NCAA tournament.

Yes congrats to the players, coach Raridon, and the entire NCC coaching staff!  What a tremendous accomplishment.  NCC was picked to finish 5th in the CCIW.  They finished tied for 2nd.  No one outside the NCC faithful thought they could win the conference tournament.  They won it!  I know Coach G from Augie will win coach of the year, but if you all had a vote who would you vote for?  You all know where mine would go.  N C C!  N C C!  N C C! :) ;D :D
CARDINAL PRIDE STARTS WITH ME!
