Well Greg, in the half full/half empty saying, I'll say you're another year closer to North Park's next National Championship!! ;) ;)

While I will discreetly sidestep NPU national championships (past or future) as a current topic of conversation, I do have some exciting news from Foster & Kedzie. North Park received a deposit today from a transfer who could turn out to be a real difference-maker. He's Brandon Berry, a 6'4 wing who was a high-school teammate of Juwan Henry at Bogan. He will be a sophomore in terms of eligibility, although he's had two prior years of undergraduate education; two years ago he played for Iowa Central CC, and last year he was at Governors State, a school that didn't have varsity sports. While Governors State is inaugurating a varsity basketball program this coming year under the aegis of the NAIA, Berry chose instead to transfer to an established program and to rejoin his old Bogan teammate. He's had a pretty under-the-radar basketball career to date, but after seeing him play in open gym I can attest that he's a serious talent. Of course, open gym is light-years away from actual CCIW competition, so I am certainly making no promises on Berry's behalf. Nevertheless, he's a pretty exciting addition to the NPU fold.

Hopping around schedules and not sure if this was brought up but Augie has a 3-game stretch of Whitewater,  Stevens Point and Washington U. Can't say anything about Washington U, but Whitewater and Point will both be down. But still, nice set of games.

Much like IWU in the CCIW UW Whitewater, UW Stevens Point and Wash Univ. are virtually never down. They just reload each year. Those 3 games will be challenging ones for Augie.

Not to mention, Washington University is very tough to beat at home...at least during the regular season.  Postseason...different story altogether.

You have to take into the account who the source is, me.  ;D. I was the one predicting the end of the world for the Pointers last year and we all know what happened.

The previous year they lost 3 senior, 1st team All-Conference starters, 2 of whom were D3hoops.com All-Americans.

I will again predict the same thing this year!

Mr. Ypsi

Today I became Grandpa Ypsi for the second time - a granddaughter this time. ;D  Mother and daughter doing well.  She entered the world at ten minutes past noon, weighing 2 ounces more than her big brother at birth, but 2 inches shorter.

With my usual great timing, about the time I got the call announcing the birth, I realized I had come down with a nasty cold. ::)  I uninvited myself from visiting the hospital or babysitting the grandson before my son could do it!  I hope to meet my granddaughter before she heads off to college. :P  (Geez, do I want to see her - I saw her big brother at about 18 hours old.)

Ypsi,

Despite your misguided sporting alliegence, hearty congrats on the grandpa x 2 status.
Just stay away until you're rid of the green flu. Your job now is to love and spoil. 😊

North Park has added Armahn Mooring, a 6'2, 190 junior transfer from Olive-Harvey who played his high-school ball at Seton.

Thanks, guys!

AndOne, I'll just get over this cold - if I wait 'til the 'green flu' goes away, I'll NEVER meet the girl! ;)

Watch out for that green flu stuff though, Ypsi. It will put you in the nursing home!
Several inhabitants of the B-N, IL area, now domiciled in such housing units, can attest to the long term effects of the aforementioned malady. 😷
