NCC is always one of the last teams to post their schedule.
Last time I participated in a discussion on this subject, the Cardinals were still looking for a final non-con game. Among such games I can tell you they have away games set @ Aurora on 11/28, Platteville on 12/3, and Alma on 12/6, and host Stevens Point on 12/9, Albion on 12/15, and Benedictine on 12/22. The opening weekend Tip-Off Tournament on 11/20 & 21 is not yet set. The long trip this season will be to a tournament in Miami on 12/18 & 19, but I don't know what other teams will be there.
A bit of relief from last year's road warrior status earned as the result of trips to Califotnia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

* The Cards will apparently face Mt. Union and U of Chicago in the Tip-Off Tournament, and their last non-con game will be vs. Robert Morris on a yet to be determined date. That is all. 🏀

Any word on more NPU recruits?  Seems like most deposits should be in by now.

Gotberg...I like your George Best quote !

I think it would be great to jump ahead and start the basketball season except I am enjoying the current weather and there is a great football season to enjoy.  Looking forward to the updated recruit list when classes start.

NPU has two more transfers in the fold, both from the Hoosier State:

Kylee Beheler, JR, 6'7, Kokomo, IN (Kokomo) / Joliet JC
Cortland Gillespie, SO, 6'0, Michigan City, IN (Marquette) / Judson

It'll most likely be Beheler and Matt McNamara who will compete for the starting center job, with Joe Biko the third guy on the depth chart. However, I think that Tom Slyder will give Michael Hutchinson a fair bit of time at the 5 in a smaller lineup when the situation warrants it.

I'm not sure about Gillespie, but my guess is that he will join the battalion of guards who will be filling out the JV roster this season.

That should just about wrap it up for NPU's additions, as I think that I've already mentioned on CCIW Chat that the pride of Minnehaha, Marcellious Hazard, has finally agreed to suit up for the Vikings after two years spent wasting his time making the Dean's List and running for student body president. ;) Seriously, in spite of being the busiest guy on campus he still managed to spend a couple of hours in Helwig every night playing hoops, leading Tom Slyder to ask him why he didn't just give in and play varsity, since he was devoting almost as much time to playing on his own as he would've spent in practice. His team won the North Park intramural title last year, beating a team that included four former Vikings (Jon Bogaard, Ryan Hyrn, David Johanson, and Reggie McGee) who had decided to finish out their undergrad years as an IM ringer team but who nevertheless were unable to stop Marcellious. He's a legitimate CCIW varsity player who will bring a fair amount of athleticism to what is already a team of greyhounds.

Aside from that, there's one other possible new transfer for North Park, and a freshman whom I'm not allowed to mention yet (not because there's anything wrong with him; we're just trying to add some mystery to the process  ;) ) and that's about it.

Well, never mind what I said on Wednesday, because it turns out that NPU has just received a couple of eleventh-hour deposits from incoming freshmen:

Devontae Gines, 6'6, Cahokia, IL (Cahokia)
Sean Woodson, 6'0, Indianapolis, IN (Broad Ripple)

Sean Woodson is the nephew of Clippers assistant coach (and former Hawks head coach) Mike Woodson.

This may be old news, but a homecoming flyer from North Central tells me that Robert Brown will be among this year's inductees to the North Central athletic hall of fame.  Ceremony is October 24.

Very well deserved IMHO!

Did last year's transfer that broke his leg return to NPU this year?

No, Corey Griffin didn't come back to NPU.

Here are the basketball names he will join in the HOF:
Alonzo Alexander
Lester Belding
Mike McFadden
Bill Shatzer
Richard C. Smith
Bill Warden

Men's track is the biggest contingent at 21 names, with many of those being distance runners who are recognized for both track and cross country, and others being non-distance runners and field specialists.  Weirdly, there are nearly as many men's swimming inductees as there are men's cross country inductees.  I sometimes forget that the school was a swimming power in the era of the Cuban missile crisis.
