I'm guessing that each school's athletic Hall of Fame has its own set of quirks. North Park's is no exception. The men's soccer program is seriously underrepresented in the Viking Hall of Fame, in spite of the fact that it's been the most successful program on campus over the past dozen years. There are several multiple-season All-CCIW first-teamers who are not in the VHOF, a couple of them dating all the way back to the '90s.

Darius Brown is a junior. Also, cross C.J. Dukes off of North Park's list. On the eve of Threshold (NPU's new student orientation week), Dukes decided to write off his non-refundable tuition deposit and enrolled instead at Oral Roberts as a non-athlete.

Again, it's not a fully final list as far as NPU is concerned, as there's one incoming Vikings freshman whose identity I am holding in abeyance for now.

So, NPU will still have a 15 member recruiting class for 2015. Second only in my memory to North Central's original 17 member 2010 class, the core group of which advanced to the 2013 Final Four.

Yep, it's a lotta guys. I have a huge bunch of new faces to sort out while watching open gyms this fall.

Elmhurst has a 2015-16 roster posted. As expected, the Bluejays will have the most experienced team in the CCIW. All eleven Bluejays who averaged double-digit minutes last season are back; nine of them are seniors and the other two are juniors.

There are four freshmen listed on the roster. Here are the two that were not noted in the ongoing recruitment roll that Bob and Mark were updating:

Mason Schaub   G   6-0   165   Fr.   Dunlap, Ill. / Illinois Valley Central
Pavlos Marakis    F   6-7   215   Fr.   Athens, Greece / Proteus Voulas

JayQuan Lee, who started 20 games at point guard for North Park two seasons ago, has transferred to Elmhurst and is listed on the roster as well. Last year he was at Waubonsee CC, where he started 17 games and averaged 9.4 ppg.

Since Mr. Lee spent a year at a CC, this wouldn't be relevant to him, but I can't recall: does the CCIW have any rule against member-to-member transfers, such as sitting out a semester or a season?

AndOne

You can't transfer within the conference without sitting out a year.
Mr. Lee could not have played for EC last season.

I thought they looked pretty decent when we scrimmaged last year.  With that much returning talent and a coach who's system is more firmly established they could make noise this year.

Is that a rule for the conference? Because it doesn't exist in the Division mainly because coaches tend not to put up a stink about transfers at this level.

Yes, there's a CCIW rule. The WIAC also has a rule, but I think it only comes into play after a student-athlete's sophomore year.

Thanks... one of those things that never tends to be a topic of conversation and thus not something I tend to research or pay attention to :)
