Wofford just played Wednesday - http://static.augustana.sidearmsports.com/custompages/Men's%20Basketball%20Stats/2016-17mbbstats/17mbb18.htm. So I guess whatever happened went down since then.

Article with Coach G comment - http://www.qconline.com/sports/college_sports/without-wofford-augie-men-suffer-tough-road-loss/article_7e668eb5-d296-560a-af23-ddfa25366c88.html.

Rather interesting... I did a search and discovered this: http://www.qconline.com/news/crime/protection-orders-filed-after-augustana-incident/article_6b2adccd-0360-5669-bdd6-4d98c4a65f72.html

I realize this might have been brought up on the boards previously, but considering I couldn't keep up over the summer with this page, I may not have seen it. While it appears Wofford was a "victim" in this case... could it still possibly be related? Very interesting year for Mr. Wofford.

It escaped everyone's attention this summer, so thanks for posting it, D-Mac.

I had heard thru twitter this fall that Woffords jaw was wired shut, but thought it was due a basketball related injury and he would be back with the team.  Obviously not.

Turns out it was a football related injury.

Not much Carroll or Carthage talk here.  Hard to believe no one seems to care about 2 of the best teams in the league.  ??? ???

Boy, and I thought our league had problems with the All-Conference selection process. Check out this story from d3hoops.com:

Yeah... this is insane and Coach Mitchell has been pushing buttons for a long time... he has clearly gone too far with this one.

I think, if you're going CC only, Kruse deserved it more.

See the front page? There's a MUCH better photo of Brad Perry on it. :)

I had mentioned during the Carthage game vs Augustana that Augie can really struggle against zone defenses.  This becomes more pronounced now that wofford is out.  The two guys that were able to find the openings in the zone and convert were both Wofford and Johnston.  Augustana still has the depth to be successful, but being without the versatility of Wofford will make things a little more difficult

Perhaps then, when facing a zone, the Augie boys should try getting the ball to the young lad wearing number 30 for their team. A smidgen of research reveals he ranks 8th in scoring in the CCIW at 13.9 PPG, 10th in 3 point percentage at 40.8%, and 5th in 3 pointers made with 40. It seems he might have a fair chance to be an effective weapon vs. a zone defense. And, if some yahoo from Naperville whose coaching experience consists of leading a team in the Naperville Youth-YMCA League for six years (4 championships  :o ) can figure that out, you would think Stomper Giovanine could too.  ;)

You might say that in this particular instance, he pushed the wrong buttons. 🤔

As far as deserving things more, Kruse already got more than he deserved last year. 🏀 ⭐️

all blues

an encouraging, but under-the-radar statistic for Millikin that I thought I was seeing, and confirmed by the numbers:  For all the woes of a virtually all-freshman team, Millikin is not turning the ball over.  After 10 conference games, since giving away 22 in the CCIW opener vs Carthage, the Big Blue have only lost the turnover battle twice-by 5 vs Carroll 1st meeting, and by 1 to Wheaton.  They tied Augie, 5-5.  Forcing opponents' turnovers, and not squandering possessions, is a good base to build on.  Hopefully, improved shot selection, shooting percentage, and rebounding will follow...btw, Jordan Cunningham, MU's 6-6, 300 lb. "aircraft carrier", leads the team in turnovers, due to travels, charges, and steals from putting the ball on the floor, as he learns under fire...but is improving, as his teammates are starting to look for him and find him down low.  :)

He didn't figure it out Saturday, even with #30 shooting 60% behind the arc.
