Anybody watching the Wash U vs. Ripon game? This Ty Sabin character is sick.

Supposedly the best scorer in DIII. Certainly seems true in the 1st half.

Gregory Sager

Well, according to the guys on Whiparound, Sabin's got a chance to pass Stevie D. on the D3 all-time scoring list tonight.

I can see why he's piled up so many points over the past four years.

North Central's up on Wooster by two at the half.

He IS leading D3 in ppg.

Tonight WashU has 27 at the half; Ty Sabin has 25!  Add in his teammates, and Ripon is up 42-27.  Upset Alert is hereby officially declared! ;)

North Central outlasts Wooster, 77-72. It was nip-and-tuck most of the way, but NCC never trailed. Erwin Henry had a terrific shooting night and led the Cards with 20 and 7, while Jagger Anderson came close to a triple-double with 17-8-10. Alex Sorenson contributed 16 and 8, while Matt Cappelletti added 14.

The Cards won it on the boards, where they dominated, 36-25, including 14-9 on the offensive glass.

Congrats to NCC on getting into the second round.  I hope Augie can join them.

Did you see that Wash U score -- half by half?

Wartburg creaming #10 Benedictine.

Time for breakfast in Hong Kong.

(Sadly, the IWU women went down to Trine 63-56.  A poor shooting and rebounding night did them in, even with winning the TO battle bigly and shooting 19-21 from the charity stripe).

Weird stat of the night: It took both Augie and UST almost 24 minutes before either team hit a three.

Augie is defending well, but the Doggies are not putting a body on the weak-side Tommie attacking the glass, leading to several UST putbacks to keep this one a seesaw game.

Chrishawn Orange hit a running trey at the buzzer from the top of the key as Augie dethroned St. Thomas, 77-74. Augie was down by eight with under 40 seconds remaining, and came back to tie it up with ten seconds remaining on a pair of Nolan Ebel FTs. The UST ballhandler was called for a charge with three seconds left, and Orange threaded his way through the defense to hit the 21-foot runner as time expired.

That was a crazy last minute, unbelievable!

Orange led the way for Augie with 20. Micah Martin had a 12 and 10 double-double, with three blocks as well. Ebel chipped in a dozen, and Jacob Johnston added 10.

Greg,

That was not a runner. He was able to get both feet set and launch.  Great shot and remarkable win.
