Boy do we need some basketball games to keep this conversation going in the right direction....

Yes, because smiting everyone is a much better way to keep a conversation going!

Now, now, you know perfectly well I was talking about a Dick Cheney type shot! ;D

With due respect to your brother, Ryan Coleman is the best female bball player in the Mid-American Conference, not some guy with a camera! ;)  (What are the odds of THAT coincidence?)

To go somewhat back on topic, it is looking like I will be at the games in Appleton this weekend.

... although at the moment Augie is the only CCIW team we've shot.

Would it be asking too much that you could have shot them BEFORE we lost the two regular season games to them?! ;D

We did. We shot them at Stout. :)

I am almost positive that Ryan had the name first. PLUS, he was born in Ypsilanti, so you should reconsider. :)

Ahem, also, which one comes up earlier in Google? :)

(ed. note: our Ryan Coleman was #11, behind a bunch of sites about a child actor and some fisherman.)

No matter which way you look at it, I came before the kid from Nick or the basketball player (who, believe it or not, I have known about for a few years).

I used to get IMs from people asking if I was the Ryan Coleman from TV. That was funny. I'm just a poor sports photographer..... he's already rich beyond imagination.

You ought to come out and meet the bball player (but do it quick - despite all the cracks about d1 'student-athletes' she WILL graduate in April).  If Pat won't take the pictures, I will.

I confess that I have never actually met Ryan, but I've followed her career closely.  I never actually met Earl Boykins, either, and he majored in my department!  It's a BIG school!  I've seen them both, many a time, but they wouldn't know me from Adam.  Quite a difference from most d3 experiences.  I've seen Wheaton, Hope, and IWU exactly once in the 31 years I've taught at EMU, yet I think I've had direct conversations with as many of the former teams' players as I've had with EMU bballers!  SOME of this is because EMU is 10+ times as big, but some of it is simply the isolated 'bubble' than d1 players are in.

Thank you. That's not quite what I was going for but thank you. I definitely try. Sometimes.  ;)

Is it Thursday night yet? Do I have to pack yet? Where's my Google Maps directions?

I guess this is why they call it March Madness, right? I'm going insane waiting for the week to go by so I can get back on the road!!! Craziest two months of my short life/career. 23 games/events since February 1.

As the norwegian bachelor farmers of Lake Wobegan would say... "oof ta".

And I thought 20 football games in 14 weeks was a lot of work this past fall!

Oops! :D Well uhm, I bet that shot made you some money... yeah... that's what I meant. :D Someday if I ever become rich working for non-profits I will, 1) not like myself for extorting money :D 2) have to buy a big copy of that to include in my cool d3sports room. :)

Sigh. I have gone through many means of archiving my photos over the past few seasons and only this year found a solid form in which to do it. And it is still prone to errors.

Somewhere, on some dead hard drive I haven't thrown away, I have the originals from that game. Pat may have them somewhere, too, but we haven't been so lucky to track them down on his end yet.

We didn't offer that photo for sale, in fact I don't believe we even put it in the gallery. My mistake on that one and I have been kicking myself for it since. Oh well.

I learn from my mistakes and do my darnedest to not repeat history.

and Chris and Cory just keep doing all of the important dirty work.

Like fouling out in nine minutes on Friday?  My friends and I were taking "bets" on when Chris would get his 5th foul.  :D  To his credit, he played twice as many minutes on Saturday before foulding out!  :P  As my friend Swampgoon said, "Well, you can't take them home, so you may as well use them all up!"

God created two of them due to the 5 foul limit in college basketball.  It's worked out well for Illinois Wesleyan.

lol.  ;D

On a serious note...I went to the IWU webpage and saw that tickets went on sale yesterday at noon.  Assuming they already aren't sold out, is there any gracious IWU fan that would be willing to get me two tickets?  I hardly feel like driving down the Shirk Center concession stand and getting a pair, let alone driving up to Appleton and sitting in line for 3 hours or whatever.

If anyone can do that, please send me a message or an email...otherwise I'll assume they are sold out.  If you get me two tickets, I promise to cheer for IWU too!  ;)

IWU has sold about 300 of the 350 allotment.   As of right now, LU would be getting about 50 back for Viking fans.

You can't let that happen!  You have to go buy the rest of them and then scalp them at the game to the LU fans! lol.  :D

To let you know, a fellow poster and an IWU fan has volunteered to pick up a couple of tickets for me.  I appreciate the effort.

Maybe this time, Titan Q, I'll catch you with your headphones off!  ;)

Any Augie fans want to get me two for the Puget Sound/Augie game???  ;D  Send me a message or an email please!
