Greek Tragedy

Unless the Augie/Titan rivalry is like Hope/Calvin and Rangers/Celtic or whatever, I'm sure both sets of fans could help out the other fans by communicating with each other and buying tickets for their game to give to fans of the other game and vice versa...I'm sure both IWU fans and Augie fans would like to see the other game.  Just a thought!  I would think fellow CCIW team fans would cheer on the other and help each other out if they need tickets.    Obviously nothing against Lawrence or UPS.  I mean, if Point was in the tourney and Eau Claire was the same sectional (like when Point and Eau Claire played at the Buena Vista sectional several years ago), I might (heaven forbid) buy an Eau Claire fan a ticket or two!  Maybe.  ;)

IWU has sold about 300 of the 350 allotment.   As of right now, LU would be getting about 50 back for Viking fans.

I doubt I'll be so lucky... ;)

Come on Sammy Jenkis, you gotta know someone who knows someone at your alma mater that can get you some!  :D

I couldn't be any happier when soccer references are made  :)

Rangers/Celtics?  While I think a sport that somehow combined hockey and basketball would be extremely entertaining I don't think the Rangers and Celtics compete much, at least not since ABC stopped holding Superstars competitions.

I played soccer in college and I'm a Manchester United fan...when Roy Keane went to Celtic, that automatically made me a Celtic fan.  For the record, I'm also a Rangers fan...a New York Rangers fan, that is.   ;D

Isn't this a basketball site? lol.

Lol...everyone who can stand in line wants the tickets for themselves.  Greedy SOB's!  ;)  The other issue is that my group of friends who no longer live in the vicinity of A-town are all calling the same pool of current LU students/alums in Appleton.  Thus we are left with a King Solomon like math problem.  If you have 25 alums who need tickets and you have only 10 folks in Appleton to stand in line, how do you divy up said tickets (assuming you can trust your friends to get in line early enough to avoid the sellout  ;D)

Just like I said last week though, I'm more excited for LU than I am worried about my own tickets.  This is great for the team, the school, and the community of Appleton.  I'll be up enjoying the fun regardless!

Thanks to a generous IWU fan, I now have two tickets to Friday's game.  Thank you kind, anonymous Titan fan!!!  ;D  As a side note, this is why I really like this board.  As much bantering/bickering/chest thumping as we may do about our teams and conferences, I think that most folks here are willing to help out a fellow D-III fan and that's pretty cool. (obligitory sigh and  :'()

Sappiness aside, I am even more excited for this game now that I know I can see it in person!  ;D

I seriously doubt that you will be seeing any Augie fans giving tix to IWU fans or any IWU fans giving tix to Augie fans...it would disrupt the worlds rotation

A2K, to the contrary, I think we would help each other out, those of us who have been out of school for a while anyways.  When I was still in school like yourself, I probably would have said the same thing.  Now, though, all the CCIW chatsters pretty well support each other for the most part.  Heck, I played football at IWU and a year or so ago, I found myself sitting in the bar having a few beers with an Augie doggie football player whom I played against.  It's actually more fun to tell the stories once you're out of school and get each others perspective about how we viewed the rivalries while we were in school.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Yeah, time heals all wounds, and most rivalries.  There was a time when I would have past Joe Hakes lying dead on the street and spat on him.   Now, I can actually be cordial and even rooted for his team in the tournament.  Hopefully no one from the CCC board is reading this and now knows where I went to school.

Anyway, cool story about ESPN at IWU.  I like how d3 is getting a lot more recognition nationally over the past couple of years.  Any word on if they might want to broadcast the national final on one of their many networks?  Frankly it would be more exciting than the stupid d2 championship game which gets to be on CBS every year.

Kinda like "crossing the streams..."?

Egon: Don't cross the streams.
Peter: Why?
Egon: It would be bad.
Peter: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean bad?
Egon: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

True, but you weren't some Larry U fan coming in here and flapping your mouth and talking $%#^!  ;D

If you were, I'm sure all IWU nation would be laughing at you knowing they could've gotten you tickets but didn't because you said something bad about their mothers, or team or coach or whatever, for that matter!  :D
