Haven't posted in a long while but curious from the guys who watch and follow the league - who's leading candidate for POY at this point?  I did just see Greg's post regarding Bosko's post game comment.

Brady Rose (IWU) and Aston Francis (Wheaton) both have 3 CCIW player of the week honors under their belts, but Rose's team is in first place, so I would say that he's the leader in the clubhouse.  Sorenson is another contender.

Agree with mwunder.  Guess it depends which team finally wins the CCIW crown . . . to some extent.

Sorry about Henry.  Horrible way to end a long and distinguished career in the CCIW.

Big surprise of the night:

Carroll 90
Elmhurst 60

The win for the Pios wasn't the big surprise, but the margin of victory certainly was.

:o  Yikes. The month of January did not end well for the Bluejays.

5 games left, 3 of them at home. Not sure that .500 in CCIW is realistic anymore, but hopefully the Jays can still finish a few wins above last year's total of 4.

Never knew Pioneers could be shortened to Pios until tonight.

Not my doing. Carroll fans have been calling them the Pios for as long as I can remember.

Yep. I've now filed this one under 'The More You Know...."  shooting star and all.

Did anyone say what the injury to Henry is...if it happened in a game, or in practice, or...?
NC is deep, and "next man up" ; but that is a tough loss

I saw a tweet from the last couple of days from a NCC assistant. The assistant said Erwin was injured while boxing out in practice, and that's the extent of what I know.

Carroll 77
Augustana 69

From what the narcoleptic Carroll camera operator allowed me to see, it looked like an ugly game that only a mother could love. But I'm sure that it looks pretty beautiful to Carroll fans. The Pioneers are really finding themselves here late in the season.

Would have loved to hear commentary during the game. On Wednesday if you breathed wrong you got called for a foul, today no fouls were being called. Very ugly game, and just like last year Augie loses on the road at Carroll in February during a critical time in seeding for the tournament. They will need to win out and get lucky, because I don't think they want to go back to Shirk which hasn't been too friendly to them the past couple of years.

Yogao

Just saw the box score. Carroll shot 32  free throws to Augie's 13. They made 23 to Augie's 13. Tough to beat a team when they take 19 more free and only 4 of them came in the last 4 minutes of the game.

augiefan

Carroll simply outplayed Augie today and deserved to win. Recall that Augie was very lucky to beat the Pios by 4 in RI. Contenders who still have to travel to Waukesha beware.

As for Augie they have gutted it out after the loss of Wofford, but they have been running on fumes. Maybe this loss will take off some of the pressure of being over ranked in the polls, as this loss should drop them out of the Top 20. They really need to rebound when they head to Naperville on Wednesday.

Wow, for sure -- Augie goes down @Carroll.  A new picture on the conference race now . . . IWU two games up with five to go.

Only a one game lead, 70.

Snails-pace of a game here in King Arena. EC leads 27-26 and Francis's only points of the half came by way of a 3 before the halftime buzzer. Sloppy play by both sides.

9:19 left in Kenosha...Carthage 76, Millikin 45.  Jordan Thomas has 35 and cannot miss from behind the arc.  Carthage shooting 74% from 3 land.

Sorry...make that 37 for Thimas.
