Duckfan41 - hang n there - it gets worse - you can get a migraine trying to track this

Mr. Ypsi

Fairly late in the games, both the Titan men and women are up double-digits on Millikin.

I can't get video from either B'town (women) or Decatur (men); is it just me, or is that true for others?

Mr. Ypsi

Titans hold on for a 65-56 win in Decatur.  Not a surprise, of course, but after what the Big Blue did to Wheaton recently, certainly a relief.  And one step closer to hosting the conference tourney (though that has never helped in the past :P).

Ypsi, got the video OK in HKG though the one from MU is not of great quality or attentiveness to which end of the court the basketball is being played!  :)

IWU over MU in a scratchy kind of game, 65-56.  Not much flow or impressive offense in this one.  MU has a lot of talent, but not quite there yet in terms of being truly team-oriented.  They will be very good next season.

MU:
Henry 21
Beaty 15

IWU:
Bonnett 15
Rose 14
O'Neill 11

Titans will have to play a lot better than this to beat CC and NCC in the remaining games.

But, a road win in the CCIW is a good win, no matter.

Titans now 18-5, moving on to 11-3 in league play.  Still out front.

Two important games to go.  No let down, TITANS.

The Cards blew a 21-point second-half lead, with Carroll hitting a trey with six seconds left to send it into the extra session. Sorenson and Raridon fouled out in overtime.

Wow, big comeback for Carroll over NCC.  You have to hand it to Carroll for not giving up when 21 down in the second half, winning in OT 77-73.  Amazing.

Tough to make a case for Top 25 votes this way.

No - you can make a case but you are not going to win the jury!  ;D

Well I'm sure that Hong Kong has VASTLY better internet then Michigan (or at least most of the USA).

Paging AndOne. Paging AndOne. Oh my, Carroll on the stat sheet played NCC straight up with Carroll's only lead at :13 in OT.  I do not think Carroll goes back to Wisconsin with a W -  if Sorenson had lasted about another 60 seconds

Wheaton 85
Carthage 77

Aston Francis         34 pts, 6 rebs, 3 stls, 6 tos
Kobe Eichelberger      17 pts, 13 rebs
Luke Peters         8 rebs, 6 assts, 1 to

Kienan Baltimore      22 pts, 5 rebs
Brad Kruse         20 pts, 13 rebs, 5 assts, 7 stls (and a block)
Jordan Thomas         13 pts, 4 rebs

Bosko came out with the Box and 1 in the 1st half but Wheaton was able to fight through it, get the win and return to the CCIW tourney.

Francis once again had a couple terrific stretches.  He turned a tight 31-28 game into a 40-28 lead with 3 straight treys with about 2 ½ mins left in the first half.  But without a doubt this win had a whole lot to do with Eichelberger doing whatever was asked of him to help his team win.  While his 17 and 13 was impressive, equally so was his defense on the much larger Brad Perry and Sean Johnson and sometimes Baltimore.  He now has 3 double-doubles on  the season with 5 more 9-rebound games.  Ricky Samuelson had an uncharacteristically cold night from the field.

The game was incredibly poorly officiated all around.  Players weren't sure what was and wasn't a foul by halftime.  60 free throws, 45 fouls called.  Baltimore was a foul magnet for Jay Spencer and Spencer Peterson.  The Thunder finally started to double him down low which forced the ball out of his hands.  And Kruse made play after play to keep the Red Men within reach.

Luke Peters had a really good game and is a big unsung part of Wheaton's success.  His foul shooting is still a problem however.  He was 2-4 for the night.  But Carthage actually got within 5 pts with a minute left due to several Wheaton turnovers, by Francis and others, committed while avoiding giving Peters the ball.  Here's hoping it doesn't eventually cost them.
