Elmhurst beat Millikin 87-75 to snap their 3 game losing streak and take the season series vs the Big Blue.

Jake Rhode was in uniform, but watched the entire game at the beginning of the EC bench in a knee brace. I'm out of the loop so I don't know what the story is there.

Wildcat

Jake was resting his knee, do to playing a lot of minutes in the last few games. He's getting ready for the conference tournament.

Load Management rearing it's ugly influence on D3 now? 🙄

North Central escaped Van Male with a 59-55 win over Carroll.

The Pios had the ball down three with :33 left on the clock ... and ended up taking (and missing) a layup attempt with 16 seconds left (?!). Matt Cappelletti's defensive rebound was not immediately responded to by a foul, and after NCC called timeout at :13 it took Carroll six more seconds to foul subsequent to the inbound. Aiden Chang made one of two FTs to seal the deal.

Something I have never seen before in Wheaton this evening - the national anthem was played by a children's violin ensemble!

Yogao

Augie's taken a page out of the book of showing a replay of every made basket, and has already missed 2 possessions on the other end of the court. Never thought I would say I don't want to see replays, but less is more.

OK, who had 4:47 in the first half for the Ron Rose jacket removal/not quite toss?

Nyameye Adom banked in a 30-footer at the buzzer to win the game.

Crazy ending at Carver as well. Micah Martin blocked a close-in shot by Brad Perry with about a second left that would've sent the game into OT.

Missed FTs.  No words.  Great final shot.  Tough loss.

What a shot! 3 missed free throws in the final seconds sealed IWU's fate in this one. Adom took over and fittingly ended it. Great game and a very large win for the Thunder.

I don't know what's the craziest moment in the last 9 seconds:
1. Crishawn Cook gets called for a carry a move both teams did all night without getting called previously
2. Cook while trying to hit the rim since Carthage was down 2 fakes a free throw 2x on the last attempt with 2 seconds left and it wasn't called
3. The ball clearly hits the rim, but the refs blow the play dead giving Carthage the advantage on trying to tie the game by having the possession arrow

Yep. You can't go 2-5 from the line in the final half-minute of a close game and expect to win it.

Too bad, because two of those misses were by Charlie Bair, who doesn't deserve to be remembered as the goat of the game. He was fantastic tonight: 26 and 7, including a what-the-heck-is-he-doing 4-5 performance from beyond the arc.

But Adom, who ended up with 30 points, did what big-time players do at the ends of close ballgames.
