The CCIW website has a link to the tournament page.  It states that the 8 seed will host the 9 seed on March 6.  March 8 will have 1 vs 8/9 etc. hosted by higher seed.   Semi-finals March 9 ; championship is March 12.  All hosted by higher seed.

I'd still like to know if an undefeated Wheaton gets seeded higher than an undefeated IWU, based solely on fewer cancellations.  It seems their recently scheduled head-to-head should count as a tiebreaker, but the game announcement explicitly states the game will have no bearing on seeding.

Good win on Senior night for IWU:

IWU 86 MU 71  . . . IWU with 47 in the first half:

IWU:
Bair 24
Noe 21
Wallen 16
Leritz 11

And, if I'm reading the box right, Grant Wolfe 1  :)

MU:
Gowan 25
Stichnote 12

Let's hope WC and IWU make the CCIW tournament championship game.  Should be a good one.

Thanks again to all the Seniors, for your excellent play and contributions to IWU and the IWU program.  All best in future endeavors.

Wheaton holds on over NCC 79-73

Luke Anthony          28 pts, 6-9 3pt, 6 rebs
Tyson Cruickshank   17 pts
Nyameye Adom        14 pts, 7 asst
Cade Alioth           12 pts, 18 rebs

Blaise Meredith      22 pts, 5 rebs
Matt  Helwig        19 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asst

Luke Anthony has had a relatively quiet season thus far doing what he does off the bench.  But tonight he was definitely the super sub as his 20 second half points kept NCC from stealing one at King.  Cruickshank and Adom were lighting it up in the first half as Wheaton took a 40-26 lead into halftime.  But NCC came out much better offensively and Wheaton went a little flat.  NCC actually tied it up at 49 all but an Anthony trey gave Wheaton the lead again and they were able to go on a 10-0 run and never trailed.  Collin Uveges did a terrific job in containing Meredith and besides Helwig, didn't get much offensive support beyond them.

Wheaton was +11 on the boards led by Alioth's 18.

Big Blue made it interesting near the end. The game was closer than the score indicates. Blue gave up a courtesy foul for Wolfe so he could have one final score from the charity stripe.

Let's not.

Yes, I noticed that he started his college career at Bethel (IN). The Pilots have a very good program and play in the outstanding Crossroads League, one of the better circuits in the NAIA.

Huge kudos to Millikin for fouling Grant Wolfe to send him to the FT line in the final seconds.

That was absolutely 1st class.  Really cool.

Wildcat

Mark Scherer is always classy. Best wishes to Grant Wolfe in his future.

NCC-Wheaton has been postponed due to COVID protocols.

And ten minutes later per Wheaton, sounds like it's cancelled.

Incredible game in Chicago.  There was an IWU play here or there I'd like back, but overall that was a game you 100% tip your cap to your opponent.

North Park was incredible down the stretch.  They hit some really, really tough shots.

I thought, overall, IWU played really well today.  The result was all about NPU being the better team today.

Extremely thankful CCIW leadership chose to go through all of the difficult things to play basketball this season.  Today's Illinois Wesleyan/North Park game was the perfect example of what student-athletes at other schools/leagues have missed out on this season.

North Park 76
Illinois Wesleyan 74

Izaiah Sanders: 16 pts, 6 rebs
Toby Marek: 15 pts (5-8 trey)
Jordan Boyd: 14 pts
Mike Osborne: 12 pts, 7 rebs, 4:1 a:to

Matt Leritz: 18 pts, 5:2 a:to
Keondre Schumacher: 14 pts (4-6 trey)
Doug Wallen: 13 pts
Charlie Bair: 7 rebs
Luke Yoder: 6:1 a:to
Pete Lambesis: 3:0 a:to

Mike Osborne is listed as a freshman on the game sheet, but he's no freshman on the court. He stole the ball with 32 seconds left to give NPU what looked like it'd be the final full possession in a tie game, called a timeout while lying on the floor before the Titans could tie him up, got himself wide open on the right wing for a pass from Toby Marek on that final possession, and after missing the ensuing wide-open trey with :07 left he read where the ball was going off of the rim, ran right to that spot in the right corner to grab his own rebound, and sank an 18-foot game winner with :02 left. As a result, NPU pulls off the big upset on Senior Day, and, coupled with the blowout win over Carroll earlier this week, goes into the tourney with a truckload of momentum.

Great game today. There was relatively little separation between the two teams on the scoreboard, and, although the Titans led most of the way, the Vikings refused to fade. Toby Marek got hot down the stretch, and his treys really powered NPU into late leads and ties that set them up for the game-winner from Osborne. Toby's fellow senior Izaiah Sanders played a tremendous game at both ends of the floor as well.

It was wonderful that so many friends and family could come see the game in person for Senior Day (especially Toby's, coming all the way from Austin -- Toby's mom was running around the floor waving the Lone Star flag after the final buzzer) for a game that I don't think the seniors will ever forget.

I don't think I'll forget this one for awhile either.

Couldn't have said that better, Bob. I agree 100% with everything you said.

Thanks to the CCIW presidents for giving the student-athletes the chance to make this season -- as shortened and as strange as it's been -- happen at all.
