No offense to Hope, Anderson, Greenville, or Wartburg, but you also won't catch me wearing orange on King's Day (April 22), which is the national day of celebration in the Netherlands and a day in which wearing orange is a big thing in the land of windmills and wooden shoes, even though I have Dutch ancestry as well. I think you know why. ;)

Frankly, I just happy you know Greenville rolls in the glorious Pantone 158c.

The high level of chromatic knowledge present among d3boards.com regulars must be a constant source of delight to Flying Dutch Fan. ;)

Very much so!!  Although I - like GS - am really not a fan of wheaties orange, but then I suspect my "color palette" to be a bit more refined than your average Joe.

Unscientific rankings of regional d3 athletic programs who don orange...

1st - the 'Ville' - 158c (clear winner.  this shade is a blue collar everyman's orange)
2nd - Hope - 166c (clearly a strong hue but often this coloration thinks its better than you just because its 166c)
3rd - Wartburg - 158 (or 172) (both are nice, but perhaps pick a pigment)
4th - Wheaton - 159c ("our tincture is the only proper tincture" is just the kind of stuff that earns you 4th place ranking)
5th - Anderson - 021 (just a tinge too basic)

Good luck Elmhurst.

Looks like the gauntlet has been thrown down, FDF. Looking forward to your response. ;)

The last time North Park had a seasoned team with seniors who played significant minutes, the Vikings shared the conference crown.

158 - seriously?  Everyone knows a truely great orange has to be dang close to a hue angle of 45° with a nice high chroma value north of 60.  158 is out there with a hue angle of 56.59° and a chroma of 59.16.  It's not truly orange and it's not too bright.  The nasty amount of reflectance that thing has between 480 - 560 nanometers (aka green reflectance) makes it a muddy mess.  It's like an orange contaminated by some green weenie.   ;D

Talk about leaning into the 166c reputation.

Hey D3Hoops.com people... your stream of the Final Four SUCKS!!! Doesn't matter if on laptop or phone; WIFI or via 5G - it SUCKS!!!

Gregory Sager

Hooker has been face-guarding Davidson since the game started ... and it took Kyle Brummett until the 5:04 mark of the first half before he had one of his players (Ahmani Jones) come out to set a screen on Hooker. That should've happened within the first few minutes of the game.

Meanwhile, let's see if Elmhurst responds with cooler heads to Schreiber's shenanigans than IWU did last weekend.

UPDATE: Never mind. Schreiber's just gotten the thumb with a Flagrant 2.

They haven't announced it yet... that's an F2

Right call, by the way. Schreiber made no play on the ball whatsoever. He grabbed Johnson from behind as Johnson was going airborne, and pulled him down from behind with both hands.

Doesn't matter now, but can't believe he didn't get the flop warning earlier.

It's too bad. Schreiber is more than a good enough player on his own to engage in such dumb behavior.

Yeah, especially since the ref bantered with him after that flop.

Total domination in the rebounding category by Elmhurst. Call the Bluejays "Bill Gates", 'cause they own windows.

That call, an F2, would not have happened without the availability of and use of replay. (Which was EXACTLY my point re: the Noe v Screiber play 6 days ago).

Elmhurst 90
Wabash 68

It wasn't nearly as close as the final score implies.

Congratulations to the BlueJays on a thoroughly dominant effort, especially on the defensive end.  They made it tough for Davidson all night.

As if to say "Uh, remember me?", it was nice to see Jake Rhode asserting himself from the get go and coming away with a performance that surprises none of us on this board.  We've seen it, and been victimized by it, many times before.  Dominic Genco continues amazing play.

Bring it home vs RMU!
