Has anyone posted all the recruits for each school lately? I haven't been on too much, not sure if I missed it. Thanks in advance.

I have been posting CCIW recruits for the various teams as they became available to me. You can page back for the postings. The Elmhurst recruits are all on the Elmhurst basketball site.

So far, only a handful of guards listed - no idea about returning players and if more commitments are to come.

Interesting to note that 4 of the 5 new shipmen so far started their college careers at other schools. Must be the lure of the Big City.  ;)
The fifth is from Manona Grove HS in Wisconsin. Manona is a close suburb of Madison, Wi.
* A notable graduate of Manona Grove is Jeffrey Skiles who was the Co-Pilot on the famous Miracle on the Hudson flight.

Given the eastern Vikings nautical orientation, the On Board The Ship terminology used in the player announcements is very, very cool. Give that guy a raise.  8-)

* Just learned the kid from Manona Grove is also a transfer. He spent the last 2 years at Edgewood (WI).
Perhaps NPU's new recruiting policy is to disdain the traditional HS seniors pathway, and to comb the transfer lists?  :D

NPU Twitter has Lance Nelson. There's a Caden Nelson on Edgewood.  ?

The only new players identified who haven't already been announced on CCIW Chat are the kid from suburban Madison, Lance Nelson, and the transfer from Earlham, Kolden Vanlandingham. Nelson had a really nice high-school career, and looks as though he may be exactly the sort of uptempo point guard that Sean Smith and Ed McGhee are looking for. Vanlandingham? I remember him very well. He was a handful for the Vikings to guard last year in the crackerbox, scoring 16 against NPU in Earlham's losing effort. He averaged 17.4 and 5.0 last season for the Quakers and was named to the All-HCAC team despite being only a freshman. He's a very nice addition to the NPU fold.

No, Mark. "The kid from Manona [sic] Grove" is not a transfer from Edgewood. That's Caden Nelson you're thinking of, not Lance Nelson. Lance graduated from Monona Grove in '21 and doesn't appear to have played college ball anywhere last year. They're former high-school teammates who share a last name, so Lance might be Caden's little brother, although there isn't a strong resemblance between the two. (They're both in the second picture in that article.) Not all brothers strongly resemble each other, of course.

Or ... perhaps the fact that North Park's new head coach was hired in mid-April might have something to do with the fact that it's a transfer-dominated list of NPU newbies, hmm?

C'mon, Mark. Be better.

Yep. Looked at the Twitter announcements and then later looked at the Edgewood roster as I learned NCC is playing Edgewood this year, and they have a kid from my old high school. Saw the name Nelson and that he is from Monona Grove. Remembered the Twitter announcement but forgot the first name is different. My bad.

Still love the On Board The Ship reference.

12 or so of IWU's '22-23 team will travel to Greece in August, playing 3-4 exhibition games and seeing the sites.

'70,

Any more details concerning the trip? Sounds like a great time.
I still remember NCC trips to Italy and more recently to Costa Rica. Fabulous experiences.

North Park is also adding one of Ed McGhee's former Lincoln players, 6'3 rising junior Quillin Dixon out of Rockford Jefferson. He played in 30 of Lincoln's 33 games and started half of them, averaging 5 ppg. I'm not impressed by his shooting line, but he did sport a 1.5 a:to ratio, and came away with 29 steals for the Lynx.

Sorry, no more details on the Greece trip.  Perhaps it will come out soon.  The Titans are back at Shirk now, practicing for the trip.  I watched a bit of it these last few days.  All the key characters are back . . .  all working hard for this trip.

Looks like Wilmsen, Mitchell, Roper, Sroka, and Heflen to me . . . with perhaps Heaton, Pankay and a few others in the rotation.  Not sure on that part yet.  Time will tell.

No newbies on this trip, just the upperclassmen . . . to enjoy the cradle of democracy, some good Greek food and appropriate libations.

IWU women off to Italy soon, too.  I think on Friday.  They are back practicing too.  I'll post about them on the appropriate site . . . otherwise I'll be chastised by Greg.  LOL.

Happy summer's charms to all . . . we can "hear the corn grow" down here.

My understanding is that there is an NCAA rule that in order to be eligible to go on a foreign trip, a student-athlete must have already matriculated, taken classes/earned a certain number of credits. Incoming freshmen and transfers are thus rendered ineligible for foreign team trips.
