The suggestion that the IWU job pays $40K is nuts.  $62 sounds close, I had heard closer to $70K.

What is interesting Dennis - and I am more guilty than anyone about this - is that ALL of the discussion on the IWU coaching search has come from non-IWU people.

That's assuming people believe you are a non-IWU person. You haven't said much about Augie in your 187 posts.

Well, I am definitely a lot closer to IWU and IWU people than I am Augustana nowadays.   If that makes me an "IWU person", sign me up for the old people bus and get me my green sweater!! :)

The only reason Tharp should go to IWU is he will be a lot closer to the Waffle House.

That's it, new poll, April for new IWU coach!

But, wait a minute, if she's only in it for the money....  And, hold on, can we REALLY trust her not to take a dive twice a year against Wheaton?  OK, April's out! ;D

If I only wanted a job for the money, I would NOT be doing non-profit work!  :D :D

And yeah, the chances that I wouldn't still want Wheaton to win are absolutely zero. I'd be like, guys, you know I love you, but if you lose this game on purpose, I'll buy extra pizzas for the trip home:D I don't know how Steve Moore and John Baines do it!  ???

Raridon made the right choice. It's easy to see why someone would prefer staying in Naperville and all the Chicago area has to offer over heading to central Illinois. Also, he can build his own program at NCC without having to live up to the Denny Bridges tradition.

I hope Rose gets the job. He seems like the right fit. I have said before that I consider John Tharp the best DIII coach in the country. As an Augie fan it scares the heck out of me to think he might end up at IWU.

augiefan

Let's not have any talk of April coaching at IWU. I have her at the top of my list to replace Grey Giovanine at her secret favorite school Augustana. The cookies will be a great recruiting tool. and her pro bono compensation philosophy fits Augie's budget real well..

augiefan

I don't know anything about Augie's two Quad Cities recruits, but as an Upstate 8 fan I can tell you Kyle Waller is a top DIII recruit. I saw him pretty much carry his team in games against Elgin and Larkin this past season.

First Team All Conference in the Upstate 8 is a real tribute, as it's one tough conference. In fact DeKalb is dropping out of the conference to play competition a little closer to home and a little less challenging.

Steve Moore is not conflicted, you can take my word for that.  There's been a lot of water over the dam since he left Wittenberg.

Oh I believe you! On the other hand, Wittenberg is noooo Wheaton.  ::)

her secret favorite school Augustana.

:D ;) How'd you know.  :P ::)

Dave Wrath is pretty neato though. I don't think I've seen him for over two years, but he's so neato that I still remember how neato he is. If Augie really does have a low budget, and I somehow find out that he's not being paid enough, I'll totally picket the next time I'm at Augie.  :D ;)

I wouldn't have to stomp and scream, right?  :o I don't think I could do that very well, I'd much, much rather do the Harris smile charmingly and act incredulous thing!  :)

My idea of sending cookies to recruits (which you know I would have done!) got shot down as being a violation of NCAA rules.  :-X :'(

And just in case my post didn't have enough smilies...

I heard it pays about a million per, but I thought everyone knew that already.

To give you an example of the type of conversation over the last week...

I was offered the job, but I turned it down because I don't like the color green.  So the position is still open.   ... even though there have been rumors that just about EVERY top candidate has both accepted the job and already moved to Bloomington.

:D :D :D :D Nice work gentlemen, karma for both. (Go ahead Old School, smite me!) :P

Somehow April announces her karma gift to me and I lose two points?  Maybe her karma just isn't something to be desired?

Do the cookies violate the NCAA policy on gifts to recruits?
