I'm told that he made a perfect fifty out of fifty free-throw attempts, and nine out of ten trey attempts.
This reminds me of that scene from Finding Forrester where the two guys compete as to who will miss the first free throw, and neither ever does, so the coach finally just ends practice in complete amazement. That's my favorite sports scene in any sports movie ever... and that's saying a lot. Maybe we could get him and Tony Bollier to compete against eachother.  ;D

For those of you who don't regularly visit the CCIW Football board, I thought some of you would find this little piece of info fun.

Don't know if it's been pointed out or not but J.Kemper is now suiting up for football with the Thunder after playing the non "contact" sport of basketball.  He is listed as playing TE.

Fun stuff. Jordan is one heck of a tallented, athletic guy. I've thought highly of him ever since I watched him play garbage minutes in a Wheaton blowout his freshman year in DC.... he just made the other guys look like they were going in slow motion. He really had a breakout year last year, scoring the team high points in six games, and the game high rebounds in sixteen games.  It was fun to see him get some of the recognition he had deserved all along with his 3rd team all-CCIW nod last year. I know he played football in high school. It will be really fun to see how much he can contribute after being gone from the sport for four years.  :)

This is made even more interesting by the fact that the TE position is a new one for Wheaton, as they are switching up the offensive scheme a little thanks to the retirement of the former offensive coordinator. Thanks to bgbully40 for the heads up. :)

Good luck Jordan!  ;)

You could add Ryan Knuppel and Korey Coon to the competition, and you'd probably still be waiting a week later for someone to win it.

Those darn transfers ruin everything, if I was in charge I'd outlaw transferring schools.

Especially those NAIA guys from Nebraska. Man, talk about your locker-room cancers.

Here is an e-mail Adam Dauksas sent from Spain to a group of people...I'm sure he won't mind me passing on.

Hola!

After a full week of practice and seeing all of the guys play, Kee and I definately belong here.  We might not be the best players on the team but we definately belong.  We play Wisconsin-Green Bay Tues. and it should be a good indicator of how good we are in a game situation.

We practice every morning from 9-11 and that practice consists of running, stretching and some lifting.  Then we come back from 7-9 at night for practice on the floor.  We have been working on a lot of transition and Kee and I have been doing well in these situations. The coach really likes how we play together.

The coaches and players have all told me about the "European traveling" rules and to be careful when I first catch the outlet pass.  It is a lot of fun playing with our big guys though.  They really run the floor and like to set screens and play a lot of pick and roll or pick and pop.  It also makes the game a lot easier when you have 6'8, 6'9 guys able to shoot a 15 foot fallaway jumper from the baseline or top of the key.

Our apartment is pretty nice.  3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, balcony and outdoor place to dry our clothes.  They don't have dryers in Spain so you have to air dry everything.  It kind of sucks, but Kee and I suck at doing laundry period.

Also, the team has lived up to its side of the contract which has been great.  You hear horror stories of players not being paid but the owner watches us practice and always seems to wear a smile on his face.  Our coach also seems to be a great guy.  He lets his players play and doesn't interrupt practice very much.  He wants us to get out and run and simply play and creat opportunities for others.  He even goes running with us sometimes in the morning as part of our training. He also always makes sure Kee and I understand what is being said in practice.  Often times we have to stand near a teammate who translates for us.  Hopefully, in a couple of months we can understand what is going on better.

Today we had our training on the beach in Valencia right on the Mediterranean.  It was so beautiful!   The city is so nice and the mountains surrounding Valencia only had to its beauty.  The only downfall is of course, a lot of men wearing Speedos.

When we came home for lunch and Siesta with our teammates today, our town was having some form of celebration and there was a mini-running of the bulls.  All the streets were blocked off and hundreds of people lined the streets.  Kee, myself and about 5 other teammates watched the "toros" charge at these crazy people, who were taunting them while being chased, while we looked on from a cage on the side of a street. I couldn't believe how strong or fast these bulls were but that didn't seem to scare of many locals who would run past the bull when he wasn't looking or throw rocks and sticks at him.  Crazy!!!!

That is all for now...hopefully we can keep everyone updated as the year goes on.

Actually (or so I'm told by my female or gay friends), most waterpolo players are 'pretty hot' in Speedos, unlike the average beachgoer! ;D

Q, the link only talked of the Green Bay players - any word on how Adam and Keelan are doing on the court?

The major downfall of Waterpolo? Why, that would either be the Marquis de Grouchy's refusal to disengage his III and IV Corps from their skirmish with Von Thielmann's Prussian III Corps and to thereby heed his subordinate Count Gerard's entreaties to "march towards the sound of the guns" in support of Napoleon, or Napoleon's lazy refusal to issue timely orders to de Grouchy to do exactly that.

Or it could be that the Duke of Wellington's time-tested tactic of employing a reverse slope defense, which he used for the Anglo-Allied right and center on the ridge of Mont Ste. Jean -- coupled with the rain-soaked terrain that impeded the French artillery -- once again bested arrogant French generals such as Ney and Soult who had failed to learn from all the whippings that the Duke had doled out to them in previous years on various battlefields in Spain and Portugal.

And that's why Napoleon met his major downfall at Waterpolo.

Nice to hear from Adam, although if it were me, I would have really appreciated you fixing the two typos before posting it in public.  I'm just saying.

Although, I guess if I got to live in Valencia and play basketball for a living, I would probably care a lot less about how my typing skills were percieved by some nuts in the US who follow d3 basketball obsessively.

And for all these years I thought it was just so ABBA could win the Eurovision Song Contest, the start of their infamous career.

Applause for the 30 year old ABBA reference.  That is quite impressive.

Like every Parker who has spent an inordinate amount of time with Swedes, ABBA is a guilty pleasure of mine. But the song's premise is faulty; Napoleon didn't surrender at Waterloo. He surrendered almost a month later, on board the British warship HMS Bellerophon anchored in the harbor at Rochefort -- hundreds of miles from Waterloo.
