REDMENFAN

Looks like everything is going right for the Redmen, except possibly their flight home. The radio said there has been some inclement weather around the area and their flight for tomorrow may be delayed. Bench players should get some valuable minutes here in the second half

one quick correction from a previous post.  EC has won 10 games in non-conference play one time before under Scherer.

any word on players who will be ineligible for the CCIW?  i already have carthage penciled in for one, as history likes to show.  still better than any Bob Huggins led team, so I digress.
speaking of academics, I wonder which teams have the highest graduation rate, or GPA.

If you had crashed, I coulda had Andrew in the fantasy draft! ::) ;D

Did I really post that! :o :o :o

Chuck, please don't make me root for Jay Alexander's game to tank this season.  ;)

Greg, you can't scare me that easily.  I know you would NEVER root for a Parker to tank! ;D ;)

I sure hope that Carthage player you are referring to is elibible come second semester. I won't refer to his name because its not my place to do that, but if Carthage loses him that would be a big loss IMO

Wheaton and IWU are consistently ranked as the best academic schools in the CCIW, but my guess is Wheaton has the best GPa and graduation rates. No disrespect intended to all of the other CCIW schools, which are respected as well for academics.

Augie wins tonight against a bad Rockford team, 78-44. Augie had a poor shooting night but luckily they were playing Rockford. Key stat of the night though was Alex Washington, who is listed at 6-2 (I strongly disagree he is over 6 ft.), had 8 offensive rebounds and 3 defensive rebounds. Nate Swetalla led Augie in scoring with 15 and had a decent overall game. He appeared to be the floor general tonight wanting to slow things down when the rest of the team wanted to make things more uptempo. Interesting to see Dain dress tonight but get no PT whatsoever. He looked pretty good during pregame showing no signs of a sore ankle. I'm sure it was precautionary though. All in all it was a good win for the Vikes.

#9 Lawrence (4-2 for purposes of week 4's poll) loses at home to #25 Carthage (6-1), who has previous wins over #10 Calvin and #5 Hope in Kenosha, but Carthage is still ranked lower than Lawrence?  That's certainly something the red and black fans don't understand (or at least this red and black fan anyway).

I'm a little late on this...

Prior to Week 4's poll and (wk 3, #25) Carthage's win over (wk 3, #9) Lawrence, LU had 355 points and Carthage had 69.  Each played one game for the week, against each other.  In the new poll, (wk 4, #14) LU dropped 122 points, while (wk 4, #18) Carthage gained 123 points.  That's not enough?  All because one team beats another team doesn't mean they should automatically jump them in the rankings...it's relative on where they were before the meeting.

NPU tanked in the Midwest Invitational title game, losing to Coe, 70-56. That's a bad loss, and no way at all for the Vikings to wrap up their non-conference slate.

Late nite

Hardly worth the time and the energy tonight for the Vikes---Hard to tell if much was accomplished---Rockford has fallen on hard times---Only negative was the injury to Dan Rukavina---another rolled ankle for another front line player---Augie needs him to recover---He has given them some great minutes, especially on the defensive end
