They are supposed to have a crew up at the Park tonight

Nothing guys, sorry. I'm not getting anything either. I don't know if this will happen, but sometimes another broadcast will do score updates not on d3hoops.com.... if that happens, I'll be sure to let you know as I'm going back and forth between the other three game's broadcasts.
Wait, dunks are only worth two points?!?!!!? Why does anyone do them? - diehardfan

Thanks April...

I just spoke with the WAUG sports director, and he says the crew is at the Park tonight, but he wasn't sure if the feed was working...I guess we've answered that question....Go QC Vikes!

Did you ask if you can get score updates from him? Sometimes radio stations are willing to give score updates to special people.  ;)

He's not in the office right now...No Dice....Tonight is one of those nights that I wish I had not graduated last spring.

Mr. Ypsi

Final in Bloomington:  IWU 65, NCC 51.

Sounded like a LOT of turnovers for both teams.

Also reported that Millikin led Elmhurst by 14 with about 7 minutes left.

dansand

Elmhurst has cut it to two with 36 seconds left. Millikin ball. Still waiting on anything from Augie-North Park.

Brick

Well coming into tonight I was fairly confident that the QC Vikes would walk away with a win, but after seeing what has gone down so far tonight...I'm not so sure any more....

Final from the Crackerbox: Augie 71, North Park 56.

What started out as a nip-and-tuck contest became frustrating as the Lakeside Vikes' shooting went as cold as the weather.  I don't know the shooting percentages yet, but North Park's numbers won't be very pretty.  It's too bad because both teams came out competing.  The Riverside Vikes took a 5-point lead (34-29) at the half and never looked back.

Brick

It looks like quite the dominant win by the QC VIkes tonight...Bring on the Redmen.  I'm hoping to make the trip over to Carthage This Saturday!

Thanks Mr. B. With all of the upsets tonight it was a little nerve wracking waiting for the Augie final. A nice win for the Augie guys against a much improved NPU squad. Really nice to hav a two game lead on the pack at this point.

knarocky22

Huge win tonight for Augie coupled with Elmhurst's loss.  Augie seems to be clicking on all cylinders right now.  Let's hope they can keep it going up in Kenosha this weekend.

The IWU/NCC boxscore...

http://www.iwu.edu/~iwunews/sports/mbb2007/iwumbb19.htm

Overall a very sloppy game in Bloomington with some inconsistent officiating that didn't help matters, but the Titans fought hard and earned a nice win.  Zach Freeman led the way again with 24 points.

CCIW commissioner Chris Martin visited with us at halftime on WJBC and explained a significant change in the men's basketball conference tournament structure.  Beginning in 2008-09, there will be an 8-team "play in" on the Wednesday before conference tournament weekend.  8 will visit 1, 7 goes to 2, etc.  The 4 winners will be in the conference tournament, which will be played at the highest "seed" remaining (I put "seed" in quotes for the reasons noted below.)

My first reaction was, "So, we're moving to an 8-team tournament", but Chris is careful to say that technically that is not correct.  It is a "play in" to a 4-team conference tourney.  They want to stay consistent with the 4-team fields in the other sports -- this is a men's basketball change only.

Since it will not officially be an 8-team conference tournament, that extra game is not exempt -- meaning it will count against the 25 regular season games allowed.  Effective 2008-09, CCIW men's teams will only play 10 non-conference games, instead of the 11 now.  (If it was officially considered an 8-team conference tournament, that Wednesday game would be exempt and each team could still play 11 non-conference games.)

Pretty big change.
