80-79 Wheaton ball 1:33 left in the 2nd half.  Raymond has single handedly brought the Thunder back in the game and a chance to grab their 1st lead of the game.  Fast those seat belts really tight now!

tough pill for the Thunder. an official calls a foul on a 3 w 4 seconds left to send the the best FT shooter in the league to the line for 3 FT in a tie game. I sure hope there was NO DOUBT on that call.

either way Wheaton made it real tough on themselves in the first half.

congrats to the Bluejays on a hard fought, well earned victory.

Ouch. Congrats to Elmhurst. Salem or bust now, alright? ;)

Couple of Notes:
A)Wheaton's comeback was ingnited and kept afloat by Raymond.  He is my vote for CCIW Player of the Year as he is clearly a step above everybody else in the CCIW.  Raymond started driving to the bucket, picking up fouls and helped the Thunder take the lead with under 1 minute left.
B) What heart and Senior Leadership shown by Sayre, Lee, and Michael.  These 3 all chipped in, knowing they were in foul trouble, and helped the Jays earn the W.

According to Coach Harris...

"Not the way you want to have your season end... by the officials.  We knew the kid likes to flop... we warned the officials.  We played great defense on the play, but the official bailed him out.  Fortunately it's on tape, everyone will see it, the CCIW reps will know... unfortunately that doesn't keep our season alive."

He did go on once his emotions settled down to give Elmhurst all the credit on the win and to wish them well, but he was clearly very, very frustrated with the officials.

What a great game by both teams.  Raymond played his heart out tonight for sure.  So glad EC won, but it took alot of heart for sure.

Burks had an awesome game!

Not sure why the Wheaton asst. coach was doing something at the end of the game.  Wonder what happened, unless it was just the foul with 4 seconds left.

[Sorry about hitting the 'post' button prematurely!]

In the NBA, Bill Harris just got himself a $50,000 fine (even if correct)!  But I do wonder if he was indeed correct - although he'd obviously be biased, my gut hunch is 'yes'.

BRL, I would assume he was referring to the foul on Burks with 4 seconds left.

Who are they talking about mugsy?

I assume it was Burks since he took the last shot... I didn't see it, obviously... but it sounded very much like a "bail-out" shot.

I'm assuming Coach Harris will regret saying that, but all the more an indication of how frustrated he was.

Fact of the matter is... you can't let a great team like Elmhurst get out to a 15 point lead and expect to win.

C)Wiele, Standard, Fiddler, and Panner were very quiet all night long, making life much more difficult for Raymond.
D) The CCIW Officials showed again why they are not very strong, as they made some very questionable calls at the end.  Also,  how can you call a foul with 4 seconds left?  Let the players decide the outcome of the game.

Scherrer in his post game radio with Jim & Jim says, "I think our depth helped us sesstain Wheaton's comeback.  We have to stay aggressive and protect our lead.  Our 2 big guys (Michael/Ruch) brought us home down the stretch.  Ryan Burks was shooting real well"........ At the end of this interview Scherrer mentions "We hope to win tomorrow and get the Automatic Qualifier, but I do feel that we should receive an at-large bid."

Congratulations to Wheaton and Elmhurst for a GREAT game and a great way to kickoff the D-3 March Madness/Post-Season Tournament.
Hoping for an Elmhurst/Augie round III tomorrow at 7:30!
