according to the USD media guide, 1979-80 was their first year in D1 and they were 2 and 2 when they faced North Park and lost 72-69.

Gots to give props to a man for admitting he was incorrect about something.  thumbs up DGP.

I much prefer Lil Bosko to KRay.

I'm partial to "The Free-Throw Line Assassin" because he will kill you by getting to the line.

It's a bit long, isn't it?

Of course, it could be shortened to "Assassin" ... but then Jack Tatum would come looking for Steve D., and I don't think anybody really wants that. ;)

Yes, it's long....kind of like Steve Marovich's Worst Nightmare (the other one I came up with).  How about the KK for the Kenosha Kid?

Add two more CCIW victories over D1 teams.  During the 1979-80 season North Park defeated Cal-Irvine 69-55 and San Diego 72-69.  It was San Diego's first season as a D1 team.

I like the cut of your jib omaha, particularly your d3hoops screenname.

I can't even remember the last time WETN didn't broadcast a game, but I just looked at the Wheaton site and saw that the game against Webster tonight was not being broadcasted! Fortunately, according to a Webster poster on the SLIAC board, they have their student broadcasters doing it tonight, and the stream can be accessed at http://www.webster.edu/galaxy.

Thanks to omaha and Dennis for clarifying that the matchup was against UCSD... I couldn't for the life of me think of where and what University of San Diego was!

I'm starting to think that North Central is a very good team.  I didn't get to Merner fieldhouse last night because of a condo association meeting but listened to the 2nd half on WONC.  I think it's safe to say that Lake Forest is struggling so far this season.  The Cardinals have good experienced players in Rogers, Drennan, Barringer, and Raridon.  As AndOne said, they seem to be playing better defense.  The CCIW is loaded this year but the Cardinals will be tough to beat.  No easy wins this year in conference play.

A big second half for Augie results in a 76-54 win over Cornell College. Everyone played in this one including young Max Artis who got his first varsity action. Augie was only up two at half time.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone getting updates on the Wheaton-Webster game? It looks like the Live Stats has been down for some time.

Try the Webster broadcast. I just tuned in cause of the stats problem and I heard them mention that Wheaton was up by 14 at halftime.

Wow!  Augie comes back from their meltdown at LaCrosse with a huge blowout win on the road.  This is a huge win given Cornell was off to their best start in 20 years and is picked to finish 3rd in the IIAC.  Can't wait to hear details of the game.  Does anyone have info on the game?  Is Max Artis playing because of injuries or is he just that good that he's earning minutes?

Max played because it was a blow out. He only was in for the final minute. Everyone who made the trip played in this one. No injuries that I know of.

Wheaton beats Webster 78-59. I just talked to John Shackelford, my roommate. He said they played quite terribly. I haven't heard any stats yet.
