Will North Central have LiveStats going for their game with McMurry in Las Vegas on Friday?

Ralph,
The game is scheduled for the18th which is Thursday at least that is what the team told me.
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

Misc.

Sorry, NPC-Alum, for not making the Loras contest.  Got roped into a dinner engagement upon returning from a volunteer activity near Midway Airport around 1pm.  I truly wish I saw the game 'cause the only home game that I've seen this year was completely underwhelming, despite the victory.  In that game, Crew, aka Ro Russell, had a funky release from below his shoulder, rarely penetrated, and had very few assists.

NPU has a good triumvirate in Williams, Russell, and Cahill.  Jones, apparently, is a mystery.

Isaac A. should not be loafing during practice since he is not roster worthy, much less a starter.

I will always root for the CCIW over Benedictine's conference.  Thanks, Cardinals.
Once a metalhead, always a metalhead.  Matthew 5:13.

Intriguing game in St. Louis this evening - Elmhurst (6-1) vs Fontbonne (6-1).  I saw Fontbonne play Saturday vs Wash U (a 1-point game with 3:40 to play) and the Griffins are a good team.  They have outstanding guards, and I think that could cause trouble for the Bluejays.  On the flip side, I'm not sure Fontbonne can handle Brent Ruch.

Fontbonne finished 21-7 last year (12-4 in the SLIAC).  They lost by just 3 points to a very good Mary Hardin-Baylor team in the 1st Round of the NCAA tourney, on a neutral court.

I have Elmhurst a 6-point favorite.  Coming off a loss to Stevens Point and with Wash U looming, the 'jays need to get a W tonight.  Big in-region game for both teams.

This says the 19th.  Video without audio.

I hope 2 pm is Las Vegas time.   :)

Man, what an ugly, ugly win by NPU last night. I think that this shows: a) that you can't take anybody for granted, not even an 0-7 team, especially when that opponent is playing in its own gym; and b) that North Park is still plagued by the inconsistency of youth and the uncertainty of having so much roster flux. One thing's for sure -- NPU is going to have to play a much, much better game to beat Concordia (WI) on Thursday, because the Falcons are by all indications a far superior team to Knox.

Russell had five assists in that game against Illinois College, Mark. Five assists is an above-average night for the vast majority of point guards, Russell included. The only CCIW player who's averaging more than five assists per game is Steve Djurickovic.

No mystery. The man's simply been having some severe health problems over the past three weeks. I'm not sure why people keep insinuating that he's disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle or something.

If by "Isaac A." you meant Issa Avery, I didn't say that he was loafing. I suggested to Viking Blue that Avery might've received a DNP in the Loras game because of practice performance. That's just one possibility. And to say that "he is not roster worthy" only shows that you haven't seen him play. That kid is mighty talented, Mark. He's a freshman, though, and not every freshman is able to set the world on its ear right away, a la Ro Russell.

Viking Blue

I think the nature of my questions regarding Jones has come from the fact that, when I've been at NP, I have not seen him in the gym, even in street clothes.  Then again, maybe I just missed him.

Does anyone have any insight (Berki) on the eligibility status of Stevens and Brown at the semester?  With those two, North Park could have quite a formidable rotation of guards, and Stevens defensive presence would be a HUGE lift.

Viking Blue

As far as last night's affair in Galesburg, I have two comments:

1.  A win is a win, and we'll take it.  Especially on the road.

2.  Thinking about the times I have had to make the extremely uneventful drive to that town, it would not be surprising at ALL to me if the Vikings came out very flat last night.  Consider that:
a.  The high temperature yesterday was about 5 degrees.
b.  School is out, thus leading to a change in routine for many of these guys.
c.  It's Galesburg.

I'm in no way making excuses, but when all is said and done, they can't take away the W.

Thursday, on the other hand, should be interesting.

Isaac Asimov? He's not loafing...He's been dead for several years.   ;D

Just a head's up to anyone who was planning on listening to tonight's Augie-MacMurray game. Don't bother. I got an e-mail from the MacMurray AD yesterday informing us that they have no phone line in their gym (?!?). With no phone line we can't plug in our mixer...bummer. Sorry for the inconvenience. We plan on being back on for Friday's game at Beloit.

My information regarding their eligibility is a couple of weeks old, but even updated info I wouldn't be able to share on d3hoops.com unfortunately. I hope those guys make it back though, the guard position would be even more formidable with them in the lineup!

 :o :oRalph,
I'm glad one of us is on the ball, I went to the NCC basketball page last night and found the game was moved to Friday.Good catch I bought our plane tickets with a departure for Thurs @ 8:30 so we would be there for the 2:00 game. ::) ::)

I've been to Knox for basketball games - and it's a long boring bus ride - and when start giving an underclass (freshmen even) laden team the mantle "Heavy Favorite" - I would think a little bit of "we'll just show up and win attitude" is natural.

In the last 14 years North Park has struggled through a lot of losses (close ones, moral victories and blowouts) - so when the Vikings win a close game on the road - a win, is a win, is a win.
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

I congratulate any of the posters who have made it out to games this week - all but Sunday night - the weather has been terrible for driving.  I admit (and anyone who has ever ridden in a car I'm driving would agree) that I am a terrible driver - and slick streets don't help - but last night I slid straight ahead through two major intersections in Palatine trying to slow down enough to make a righthand turn.

Dansand,

Will there be livestats available for tonight's Augie game or is MacMurray College lacking that technology too?

Gregory Sager

A quick perusal of the MacMurray site indicates that it doesn't have LiveStats.
