Question to all
When do the selections of the CCIW all-conference teams come out? ???
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

historically - its the Tuesday after the regular season - which would be today.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

SIU-E has a fairly large "dental" school.  The campus is in Alton (actually the former campus of Shurtleff College).  And yes there is a life-size statue of Robert Wadlow, Shurtleff's most-famous alum, still on the campus.

Dennis,

Does he hold all of Shurtleff's blocked shot records?

......especially since there's nothing wrong with an aspiring doctor doing his undergrad at Loyola, an institution that actually has a medical school.  ;)

... as does the U of C, another school that has courted Scarlatta zealously.

I think that the closest equivalent SIUE has to a medical school is its doctor of mixology program. ;)

Personally, I have no use for those doctors of mixology...doesn't take a damn mixologist to pour some scotch over some ice cubes.

True, but once you get to the 'complex' scotch drinks ... .  I want a 'doctor' dealing with my Rob Roy or Rusty Nail! :D

I'll leave those fancy drinks to you Mr. Ypsi. It's scotch (and the cheaper, the better) on the rocks for me.

...actually, I rarely drink anymore, but I do like scotch occasionally...My earlier post was supposed to sound like Alton Benes, Elaine's father on Seinfeld.

No, I don't.

(Scroll forward to the eight-minute mark of the clip, where Alton Benes derisively calls George Costanza "chorus boy" for singing "Master Of the House". Unfortunately, youtube doesn't have a clip of Alton himself singing "Master Of the House", after the song has earwormed itself into his head, in the episode's wrap.)

See Greg--I can, on occasion, come up with a pop culture reference. Although they're usually limited to a few select TV shows, sports and music. I was disappointed no one jumped on the obscure Yevgeny Zamyatin reference I made a week or so ago.

Isn't "obscure Yevgeny Zamyatin reference" a bit of a redundancy?

(Actually, the first thing I thought was, "Welcome to my world, Dan." Now you see why I've held off on quoting Mikhail Bulgakov. CCIW Chat just isn't ready for dissident Soviet novelists yet. ;))

I thought a Rusty Nail used 2/3 scotch, 1/3 Drambuie, and at least two hazelnuts.  It is extremely rare to find a place that makes it correctly.

No, you're thinking of a Screaming Viking (as opposed to a Laughing Swede). Make sure to only lightly bruise the cucumber. ;)

Dennis,

Does he hold all of Shurtleff's blocked shot records?

Fairly sad - he died at a very young age (I want to say 22 or so), from infected blisters on his feet which he could not feel.

If Wheaton wins the tourney (no foregone conclusion), how good are its chances of hosting till the final four?

Another question: when does the d3hoops all-american team come out? is that after nationals?
the jostens trophy comes out during the playoffs, as i recall, but i forget when the d3hoops all-americans/player of the year get announced. Does the players' performance in nationals affect the results?
