How many victories does the CCIW have in the Elite Eight round over the last 20 years?

personally, I am cheering that the term "Wheatoned" will enjoy a completely new definition by the end of March.

It would have been nice to qualify the "Wheatoned" term by indicating that the bball team made it to the Elite 8 and the football team made it to the semi's.  It somewhat justifies the selections in both cases.  It is not solely that both teams unexpectedly made it into playoffs over teams with better records, but they actual did something with the opportunity.

LU got Wheatoned last year and I suspect it was one of their toughest games of the tourney/year.

So not only are Wheaton and Elmhurst in.  They're each hosting.  Wheaton has Fontbonne, plus Platteville versus Hope.  Elmhurst draws Whitewater, plus Wash U versus Lawrence.  Great weekend of d3 bball in Chicagoland!

I'll be the first to say that it's tough to see the likes of Aurora (16-12), Brockport State (14-14), RPI (15-12), among others in the bracket while Augie and NCC sit home.  I know, I know.  They earned their spot, but it's one more reminder that this is a system of national balance/opportunity than it is a system of merit.  Frustrating for fans of Augie and NCC, and the conference at large.  But those are a couple of exciting regionals that CCIW fans have to cheer for this weekend!

4 of the top 7 teams in that pod, 6 of the 8 are in the top 25. Brutal.

Wow.  Any chance that they could have maybe put one of the teams in Wheaton's bracket in another bracket?  Now, there will be only one final four team between Wheaton, Wash U, Stevens Point, Elmhurst, St. Thomas, Whitewater, Platville, Pugent Sound?  Gosh, this is killer!  Any of those teams (other than Elmhurst) could be considered the favorite if they were put in any place in the bracket.  Oh well, you have to beat the best to be the best.  We'll know early on, I guess.  I don't think it is a stretch to put money on the team coming out of this bracket into the final four as the national champion.

The sectional has the top 7 teams. Good grief.

You know, I think each of those top 7 teams thought they had an excellent chance of getting to Salem, and now only one of them will. 3 of them would have been disappointed in any case, but this seems unfair to me. Plus it will make for a less interesting Final Four. But it's going to be a heck of a sectional battle.

Here's where we start to get some of the cross-fertilization between conferences.  Welcome back, HopeConvert.  I assume you're coming to Wheaton this weekend.....

Well I for one am shocked that Elmhurst is able to host.  I was still a little uncertain we were even going to make the tournament.

Elmhurst's bracket is stacked, however beggars can't be choosers, and I am grateful we were admitted.

Good luck to Wheaton and hope both teams can go to the Elite for a rematch.
