usee   one brief comment - Caleb Knepper seems to have worked his way out of Coach Edward's favor - he shot the ball extremely well early in the year, but has gone cold in the second half of the season- he has lost significant minutes to John Wolfe, who is much less of a scorer, but knows the offense and gets the ball to the scorers.  With Richter out and Knepper seeing limited time, Wash U MUST get big scoring from Wallis Thompson and Nading   say at least 50 points..... Normally, you just are not going to get much scoring from Smith, Toth, Wolfe, and the two Kellys.....  another point- Zack Kelly.. let's just say I expect Toth to get significant minutes in the middle if he stays out of foul trouble........

I can't believe Lawrence lost to Wash U.    :'(

meaning.............?  Is Zach Kelly also in a now-crowded dog house or has Toth played his way ahead of Kelly.  I remember when Wash U was at Elmhurst in December Toth started ahead of Kelly, but that was because Kelly had picked up that concussion.

You can't believe #20 lost to #2?

Kelly starts, seemingly with seniority, but more often or not, Toth is in at crunch time......   Edwards loves bangers in the middle, and in my opinion, Kelly simply doesn't bang hard enough to get the job done to Edward's satisfaction.... there have even been times when Toth has gotten in foul trouble that a forward would be in the middle (Nading, Wolfe), but probably not against teams with good size.  Stats - Kelly averaging 20 minutes, Toth 15  -  looking at last 10 games, that's how it has been playing out..

No, I mean I can't believe we lost as I thought we outplayed them except at the FT line.  More a comment of dissapointment than anything.  Sorry to mislead. Wash U is a great team but so is Lawrence.  I guess this is what the bracket of death is all about.

I understand that.  Wheaton nearly gave away their game against Platteville at the FT line.  As we all continue to agree, this is a ridiculously tough bracket where the significance of missed FT's is greatly multiplied.  Lawrence had a great season.

How many tickets were originally alloted to Wheaton?

Pat Coleman

The handbook says half the gym goes to the host team, with the other half split among the other three teams.

...and if the visiting teams don't sell their allottments then the host team can sell those leftover tickets as well.

The Wheaton web site says King Arena seats 2650. So, according to the NCCA Handbook, that means Wheaton originally got 1325 tickets.

Just Bill

That leaves 441-2/3 tickets for each visitor.  I wonder how you sell 2/3 of a ticket?  For that matter, I wonder how you use 2/3 of a ticket.  Do they kick you out of the gym with 13:20 left in the game?

I would imagine that Wash U will have a pretty good crowd up here too. They had a nice contingent of fans at Elmhurst back in December. King Arena should be packed again this weekend
