No Jordan is a DI walk on who quit and now is making a comeback like his old man:)

Another kid I thought might end up in the CCIW - or at least have a couple CCIW schools in the picture in the spring - going the scholarship route...

Does it seem like more "borderline scholarship kids" have verballed to low D1's and D2's this year during the early signing period than past years?

In this economy, that wouldn't surprise me.

Titans win!  Green/White game results from the Shirk Center...

When I asked my "source" what his #1 takeaway was, he said Travis Rosenkranz looked very good.

The Titans scrimmage at Aurora on Tuesday, then get ready for a busy first week of play- 4 games, capped off by the two-time defending national champs.

I saw the game too and disagree with your "source" .... everyone looked good (what do you expect, they scrimmage each other every night) remember Bob, it is a team effort to win games not individual point contributors.
From what I saw, it is the same o stuff from last year and if that doesn't change, it will be another loooong year.

I'd still start Zimmer.  Mark my word...quickness and athleticsim will win the conference....not big and thick.

You are saying starting Zimmer will add quickness and athleticsim?? I don't think so....
Desire, Intensity, Focus and Heart will WIN the conference. In addition, you need great game coaching!
It is NOT just the players.

I'm not up to speed on how many of these guys commit to low D1's and D2's, but a full ride to a school the quality of Rollins, both in terms of academics and basketball, is too good an offer to pass up.  Rollins might be a better academic option that he ever might have had at the D1 level.  Academically, Rollins would compare favorably with the better CCIW schools.  Congratulations to him.

Nine points from 6'7" Kevin Reed and 12 points from Dan Oswald, who I really liked in the Deerfield summer league, is reason for excitement for the Titan faithful.

OurHouse, please tighten up your talking points.  I'm never quite sure what the Big 4 are since they change from post to post.  I'm having a Successories poster made and need to know what to include.  Thanks.

I never said Zimmer was quick and athletic.  Yes the team is a bit quicker if you start him and move John to a 4.  He is a scorer though and needs on the court.  I said the team that wins the CCIW will have quickness and athleticism....

On a 5 point scale...
Intensity-4
Desire-3
Heart-3
Leadership-3
Defense-2
Focus-1
Toughness-1
Passion-1
Work Ethic-1
Hustle-1

So, Q I would recommend the main motivational shirt to extoll the virtues of:
INTENSITY
DESIRE
HEART
LEADERSHIP

Perhaps if you only wanted to halfway motivate those with a t-shirt you would go with thESE:
TOUGHNESS
PASSION
WORK ETHIC
HUSTLE

Aaaahhhhh.  A new page.  Fresh wind.....er, air.  No talk of the legitimacy or lack thereof in the basketball world of states that bear little significance for our beloved CCIW.  Any other school's versions of NPU's Blue/Gold (about we've heard conspicuously little.....) and IWU's Green/White games that have happened out there?

LOL! But are you sure that OurHouse's rotating Big 4 is Successories poster fodder, Bob? I'm thinking more along the lines of one of those "Hang in there, it's almost Friday!" kitten posters.

There wasn't really much to say about the Blue/Gold scrimmage, because an intrasquad scrimmage that's held that early doesn't really tell you much aside from which returnees have gotten bigger or taller or which newbies have athleticism and/or basic skills. It wasn't much more than an open gym game, only with official practice jerseys.

Monday's scrimmage against Benedictine was more substantial in terms of what it revealed about NPU (aside from the fact that the Vikings have a lot of work to do, of course), and the scrimmage against Lake Forest this Saturday in the crackerbox will tell us even more. What I will say at this point is that the player whom I think has made the most improvement, and who has great potential for becoming a breakout player either this season or next, is Issa Avery. Also, Mark Erickson asked me a couple of weeks ago who the best defensive guard for NPU was. I suggested that it might be the newcomer from UW-Eau Claire, Davone Robinson, and after seeing the intrasquad contest and the scrimmage against Benedictine I'm now sure of it. He's a tough customer at the defensive end of the floor, something that the Vikings have seriously lacked since the days when Antonio Stevens was suiting up.
