Whatever...get a room guys

Hmm... this is right up there with "Watch the film..." in terms of a finale statement.   :P

Mugsy, yea it's right up there with..."read a book", "take a class" or "here's a quarter call..."

Titan you obviously still haven't listened to Rose's interview with WJBC yesterday morning.  He said that it would not be in the teams best interest to play a DI school. So to me that means he would not.  I am in touch with reality...Rose could schedule a DI game if he wanted to... (not currently)...it would be 2-3 years out. That's how DI's schedule things.  It wouldn't be a fluke, it would be planned. If he thought it would benefit the team...he would do it.
But hey, you know him best...do you want his home #, or maybe his cell #...to call him and ask.  I'm sure you already have them.

As far as Coach G....I'm not sugessting it...I'm stating it.

No I didn't bring it up....the topic has been posted for weeks.

So give me an example of some Division I majors or mid-majors that Ron Rose could call today and schedule a game with in 2-3 years (in a real game, as opposed to an exhibition).

Final from Angola, IN...

Trine 69
North Park 66

NPU was 5-13 from the FT line.

Not sure if anyone posted this one from last night...

Final today...

Millikin 62
@ Webster 45

(Webster beat Millikin 46-44 a couple weeks ago.)

Final from Angola, IN:

Trine 69
NPU 66

* Nick Williams: 26 pts, 7 rebs
* Shaun Collins: 17 pts (5-10 trey)
* Emmanuel Crosby: 12 pts, 8 rebs

I've seen Trine play. The Thunder are not a good team. Away or home, this is a bad loss.

North Park is now two-thirds of the way through the easiest non-conference schedule among the eight CCIW teams, and the Vikings are 4-4. Nothing more really needs to be said.

"I repeat myself when I am distressed."

Trine went 11-24 from beyond the arc.  Why is defending the trey so difficult over the last few years?

Joe Gonzalez didn't appear in the box score.  He needs to be the other starting forward.

The "big four" of Nick W, Phil S (I think he's hurt), Joe G, and E. Crosby is the proper path.
Once a metalhead, always a metalhead.  Matthew 5:13.

Wheaton vs "The System" tonight (Grinnell)...and a bad Grinnell team at that (1-6).

Wheaton points (over/under) = 123

Tim McCrary points (over/under) = 31

Jake Carwell points (over/under) = 22

Wheaton 3-point FGA (over/under) = 2

Grinnell 3-point FGA (over/under) = 51

Wheaton turnovers (over/under) = 24

Jorge Gonzalez, not Joe. He's been out with a leg injury, but he's played the last two JV games and appears to be back at full strength.

Defending the trey hasn't been a problem for NPU this season (although it obviously was today). Coming into the game, NPU opponents were shooting .338 from downtown in 2009-10. That's the third-best trey defense in the league, on a scale that ranges from #1 Carthage (.301) to #8 Millikin (.381). The bigger problem exposed today was the free-throw shooting. NPU came into the game shooting an ugly .671, and went an atrocious 5-13 from the line in a game that the Vikes lost by three points. Heck, even Ro Russell went 0-2 from the stripe.

You can't play Phil Schniedermeier (who is still nursing a sore calf) and Emmanuel Crosby at the same time, Mark. They're both centers.

Looking forward to seeing "The Circus" in person after having to settle for a radio broadcast of the game last year. Grinnell lost some key players last year, so it doesn't appear that the game will be as nail-biting as much of the game was last year.

I'm curious what posters think opponents can learn from a game against Grinnell, besides evaluating their ballhandlers and ability to beat the press?

Wheaton UNDER 123 points

McCrary OVER 31 points (I believe he had 32 last year, with Wiele still in the mix)

Carwell OVER 23 (but not by much)

Wheaton 3-pt FGA OVER 2

Grinnell 3-pt FGA UNDER 51

Wheaton turnovers UNDER 24

I think Wheaton does a slightly better job holding onto the ball and scores around 120 to account for a few less offensive weapons than last season. Wheaton likes the 3-ball, and after going 0-4 last year against Grinnell last year I think they sink a couple tonight. Spread prediction: Wheaton 120, Grinnell 99

FINAL -- as per D3hoops.com scoreboard

Anyone with an IWU men's score?

thunderstruck88

#20877
Wheaton 127
Grinnell 100

Tim McCrary with a triple-double: 35 pts, 18 rebounds, 10 assists
Jake Carwell with a double-double: 16 pts, 10 rebounds, 9 assists
Spencer Schultze had a double-double with 24 pts, 10 rebounds

Wheaton held a sizeable lead at halftime, but Grinnell played fairly evenly with the Thunder in the second half to keep the score respectable, aided by a healthy dose of free throws (37 attempts total in the game).

Wheaton out-rebounded Grinnell 59-28, with 114 points in the paint and 76 off fast break. Grinnell won the turnover battle 15-23 while going 14-46 (30%) from 3-point range.

Does anyone else think IWU plays to the level of competition in front of them at times?

It seems like if you can play with Wash U, maybe you could win tonight without too much of a struggle?

It just seems like they can't fire on all cylinders yet.
